Pros: ITS TOWING ABILITY AND COMFORT
Cons: WIND NOISE
Advice: DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A V8 ONLY IF YOUR TOWING UNDER 5000LBS..VERY LITTENEVER RODE AN SUV WITH THIS COMFORT LEVEL..PURCHASED THE V6 AND TOW A 19' BOAT WEIGHT WITH GAS IS APPROXIMATELY 3000LBS...NO PROBLEM TOWING TWICE A WEEK 20 MILES EACH WAY...INTERIOR IS QUITE COMFORTABLE EXCEPT FOR PASSENGER FRONT LEG ROOM WITH ANNOYING CONSOLE OTHERWISE VERY GOOD OVERALL. WIND NOISE IS THERE ESPECIALLY AT HIGH SPEEDS. THIS VEHICLE IS BY FAR OVERALL THE BEST SUV I HAVE HAD INCLUDING EXPLORERS AND AND PONTIACS. ACCELERATION IS AVERAGE FOR THIS V6
Pros: Customizing seating
Advice: If you plan to tow anything go with the V8 engineSmooth quiet ride, very comfortable in all seats. Have had to replace one brake light and relay switch for autoclimate air conditioning. Have owned this vehicle 4 months.
Pros: In-dash CD
Advice: Do not buy this vehicle.I absolutely love the luxary and handling of my Envoy, but the service deptment sees it more that I do. In the two years that I have owned my Envoy, it has been in the shop over 40 times for various problems. I have been so frustrated that I have been tempted to abandon there. GM has been, shall we say, unsympathetic. I am taking a loss and getting rid of it now.
Pros: AUTO ADJ SEAT AS WIFE IS 5' AND I AM6'2
Cons: COULD USE MORE GLOVE BOX SPACE OR ONE LIKE CADS USE TO INSTALL AS DROPIN ON TOP OF DASH
Advice: CHECK FUTURE REPAIRS FOR TRANS TROUBLEI TEST DROVE AND LOOKED AT ALL COMPARABLE MODELS BEFORE PURCHASING OUR ENVOY AND FELT THIS WAS BY FAR BEST BUY FOR QUALITY, LOOKS,COMFORT FOR OUR NEEDS. BUT WITH OURS ONLY HAVING 4800 MILES ON IT WE HAD OUR TRANSMISSION BLOW UP.THIS IS A DISAPPOINTMENT.WE LOVE THE CAR AND HOPE THIS WAS JUST A BAD UNIT FROM THE GET GO.
Pros: Smooth ride in town and on the highway
Cons: Excessive wind noise on the highway, no leg room in back seats and tight shoulder harness
Advice: Make sure you take it on the highway at 70 MPH or above to check if you live with the wind noise and take it around some corners on bumpy roadsI drove the Nissan Armada, Chrysler Pacifica, Jeep Grand Cherokee, GMC Yukon and decided on the Envoy XL due to its smooth ride, not for its handling ability. I'll admit it does not corner like a car, but other than that it rides more like a car than any other SUV I drove. The rear end is a little squirley.
Pros: the driving of the car and the heated seats . also the gadgets on the steering wheel
Cons: the transmission and the console
Advice: do not buy envoy because it is to new .i will start by saying 4 mouths after i purchase the envoy the transmission went , thenafter the left side passenger window regulator went also .
Cons: SEAT MEMORY IS A LITTLE TOUGH BETWEEN FIRST AND SECOND PASSANGER. EVERY TIME I PULL THE KEYS OUT IT GOES TO MY WIVES SETTING AND TRYS TO CRUSH ME.
Advice: IF YOU ARE A SOCCOR MOM OR TAKE LONG FAMILY TRIPS THIS IS A NICE WAY TO GO.RIDES AS WELL AS MOST CARS. EXCELLERATION IS AVERAGE , THIRD ROW SEATING IS A LITTLE TOUGH EXCEPT FOR NIMBLE CHILDREN. LOVE THE ON-STAR FEATURE. HAVING A POPPING SOUND IN THE REAR U-JOINT AND POPPING NOISES FROM LOOSE TRIM ON THE WIND SHIELD. GAS MILEAGE IS WHAT YOU EXSPECT FOR A RIG THIS SIZE. NICE TIGHT FINISH ON THE INTERIOR(GOOD FITS). LOTS OF ROOM FOR SHOPPERS.
