    2004 GMC Canyon - SLE w/Z71 High Stance Off-Road 4x4 Regular Cab

    Pros: size

Cons: bumpier ride than I wanted

Advice: get a 5cyl and test drive different suspension models.

Rides rough but like a truck so I expected it. Motor has been plenty sufficient for my uses including light towing. Back end gets loose quick on wet surfaces, might be the tire tread pattern. Gas mileage has been 17-18+.

    2005 GMC Canyon - SLE w/Z71 High Stance Off-Road 4x2 Extended Cab

    Pros: Quality and Performance

Cons: The interior door trim - would like a little more cushion - it is too hard

Advice: Give GM a fair shot before buying a new truck - these trucks are nothing like the S-10 or Sonoma models

If you are in the truck market, you need to at least test drive either the Colorado or Canyon before making that purchase decision. I am very pleased with my Canyon Z71 Extended Cab 2WD model. The interior quality is a major improvement over the old Sonoma line. It sounds and feels solid. Look at the owner's manual too. The maintenance schedule for the truck is very competitive with the Toyota trucks. I believe GM has raised the quality of their truck line with the Canyon. The price was competitive as well. I purchased this vehicle with I-5 and auto and it was only $900 more than the v-4 model of the Toyota.

2004 GMC Canyon - SL 4x2 Extended Cab

Pros: the comfortable seating and just right for me size. Most trucks are too big.

    Cons: I like it all....

Advice: take into consideration your children's growth. They get big faster than you think.

I thoroughly enjoy my 2004 Canyon Xtended Cab. It is the perfect size for me, and I pull a loaded 1700 lb trailer with ease. My husband however is 6'2' and doesn't have enough leg room for him (when he puts the seat back far enough, he gets leg cramps). Our son does get a little cramped in the back, as his legs are getting long( he's 16) but we didn't want to spend the money on a crew cab knowing he would be in college and gone in 2 years. Powerful engine, and great on gas, I love it!!! Highly recommended...I would live in it!

2004 GMC Canyon - SLE 4x2 Regular Cab All

    Pros: the inline five-cylinder engine

Cons: the tire seem a bit cheap

Advice: it is the perfect size truck for most people

IT IS THE FIRST OF TWO NEW CARS I BOUGHT THIS YEAR. CONTRARY TO WHAT THE REVIEWS SAY IT HAS MORE POWER THAN MOST PEOPLE WILL NEED.the crew cab is definately the way to go, and the adjustable tailgate is very usefull. the styling is what did it for me that is why i chose it over the colorado, and as for towing most people who tow more than 4000 lbs will use a full size truck.

    2004 GMC Canyon - SLE w/Z71 High Stance Off-Road 4x4 Extended Cab

    Pros: LOOKS AND RIDE

Cons: LACK OF LATERAL SEAT SUPPORT

Advice: DEFINITELY GET THE Z71 HIGH STANCE PACKAGE

1.] SEATS WELL PADDED, BUT LATERAL SUPORT COULD BE BETTER. 2.] STEERING IS ON STIFF SIDE, BUT THAT'S OK - 'IT'S A TRUCK' IT SHOULD BE. 3.] WOULD LIKE TO SEE PADDING ADDED TO THE DOOR ARM RESTS FOR THE LONG DRIVES. 4.] TOOL BOXES UNDER THE REAR SEATS ARE GREAT. THEY WOULD BE EVEN BETTER IF THE DIVIDERS WERE REMOVABLE, OR ADJUSTABLE FOR VARIED WIDTH OBJECTS. 5.] THE ANTENAE NEEDS TO BE REPOSITIONED SO THE WIPER BLADES CAN BE PULLED AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE WITHOUT HANGING UP ON THE ANTENAE. MOVE THEM AHEAD AN INCH OR 2 WOULD WORK. 6.] DRIVING THE TRUCK IS AN EXPERIENCE THAT I LOOK FORWARD TO AT THE END OF EACH DAY - FUN EXPERIENCE. 7.] WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE TOW RATING TO BE CAPABLE OF 5000 LBS. 8.] CENTER CONSOLE STORAGE IS NEAT. STORAGE CLOSE AT HAND. 9.] DIGITAL ODOMETER COULD BE HIGHER CONTRAST - DIFFICULT TO READ IN THE SUN. 10.]I LIKE THE GAGE LOCATIONS AND VISABILITY LOCATIONS, BUT WOULD LIKE TO SEE THEM WITH BLACK ON WHITE BACKGROUND FOR BETTER CONTRAST AND EASIER VISABILITY. 11. I OWNED AND LIKED MY S-10, BUT REALLY LIKE THE ADDED FRAME STIFFNESS THAT THE CANYON HAS. RIDE IS NOT COMPROMISED AS MIGHT BE EXPECTED. I BOUGHT THE TRUCK BECAUSE I REALLY LIKED THE LOOK. HOWEVER I WAS SURPRISED AT HOW MANY WOMEN HAVE REMARKED ' WHAT A GREAT LOOKING TRUCK'. THAT WASN'T A CRITERIA, BUT ITS A NICE FRINGE BENEFIT.

2004 GMC Canyon - SL 4x2 Extended Cab

Pros: Looks or smooth ride (both at the top)

Cons: Door lock only on the driver's door??? Wheel wells look a tad under protected.

Advice: Extended cab worth the extra price over regular cab..I now realize I need the extension

Powerful, speedy and reasonably economical. I found the suggested shift points (an indicator in the instrument panel) to be a little premature. Brakes, Clutch and Steering all feather light and tight. Although high in the air, the vehicle felt very glued to the ground in corners. Turning radius will take getting used to for first time truck drivers. Cloth seats and vinyl interior seems to be the type which, experience shows, starts to degrade at the 5 year point..I could be wrong here. Instrumentation good, would like to see an analog oil pressure guage.
