    2005 GMC Canyon - SLE w/Z85 Heavy-Duty 4x4 Extended Cab

    Pros: Size, styling.

    Cons: Plastic interior, noise/rattles.

Advice: Good utility vehicle but not too powerful.

I've owned this vehicle for a little over a year now. Things I like: Good comfort, just the right size, can do about 80% of what I used my former bigger truck to do. Comfortable ride (it's a truck after all). Things I dislike: Heater fan noise (right from the start), has a plastic look, radio/cd player sometimes unreliable, need to slam doors shut otherwise dome lights will stay on forever or for the life of your battery. More rattles in the interior now than a year ago. Could be more powerful considering the so-so gas milage. Would I buy this again? Yes but only if it were based on the design of the GMC Envoy (interior and power system). It seems GMC didn't have a good understanding of who their potential customers were for this product; this truck is like the red-haired step child of the GMC family.

    2006 GMC Canyon - SLE2 4x2 Crew Cab 1SC Heavy-Duty

    Pros: The looks

    Cons: Interior seems spartan

Advice: ZQ8 suspension is a must for everday driving

Just purchased the 2006 Canyon Crew Cab with the newly-optional ZQ8 suspension. This option includes 17 inch aluminum wheels, P235 x 17 Continental tires, rear sway bar, higher pressure gas shocks, polyeurethane body mount bushings, and quicker ratio steering. Truck rides firm, and steering response is excellent. No squeaks or wind noise, and seats are firm and comfortable. Engine noise is minimal at cruising speeds.

    2005 GMC Canyon - w/Z85 Heavy-Duty/1SC 4x2 Crew Cab

    Pros: The look .

Cons: The crew cab has a terrible wind noise from the rear and very bad rear tire noise when the rear seats are folded down.

Advice: Do NOT get the inline 5 if you are looking for gas milage! 19 at best in city a little better on road trips.DO buy an extended warranty. Warranty direct. com has the best deal!

I got the I-5 motor, It has enough pick-up to pass in tight spaces and has all the 'get-up' you need. The ride is good but NOT great! It's a little hard riding on rough roads but it's tolerable. I noticed that it has only one keyed door to enter if the remote ever goes out and it's on the passengers side?!?! What's up with that? To GM: insulate the rear of the cab to stop the noise.

2004 GMC Canyon - SLE 4x4 Extended Cab

Pros: High Speed 4WD and XM Radio

Cons: General Ameritrac TR Tires -

Advice: Make sure you get options you want up front - dealer told me they can't add fog lights now

Purchased as a commuter vehicle for 100 mile daily winter commute on mountain two-lane roads. Has performed well, although I am not sure if I will keep original tires (General Ameritrac TR) - Will probably change to Goodyear Fortera HL's which greatly improved handling on our Ford Expedition.

    2005 GMC Canyon - w/Z71 High Stance Off-Road/1SE 4x4 Crew Cab

Pros: Crew cab - Roomy back seat for mid size truck

Cons: Limited out of weather storage - Bought locking hard bed cover to alleviate problem

    Advice: Get a Rhino Liner!

Ride a little stiff/bumpy but I did get the Z71 off road package - Very quiet ride for a pickup

2004 GMC Canyon - SLE 4x2 Extended Cab

    Pros: cd player

Cons: poor assembly quality and mr. goodwrench attitude and poor service

    Advice: Don't buy it.

Driver information battery warning message comes on at temperatures below freezing. Makes you question if is truck is reliable enough to drive. Dealer reprogramed computer. No help. Attitude was GM knows about it and that was all that mattered. Wind noise through passenger door. Doors were misalligned by about 1/4'. Water leaks into driver side and onto carpeting. Puddles up to 1' deep at brake pedal. Front license plate holder floppy and nearly fell off. Front bumper mounting bolts loose. Right front of grill at headlight popped loose on bumpy pavement. Noisey muffler. No padding on door arm rest. Oil filter was seized up because no oil was put on gasket at engine assembly. List price $23,975.00.
