Pros: strong engine
Cons: noisy cab
Advice: never pay sticker price...The I5 engine is noisy, but it does have a lot of torque. nice ride for a pickup.
Pros: Adequate power
Cons: The vehicles hood bends down considerably when going thru airdryed carwashes
Advice: get the 5 cylinderI was very surprised by the power of the inline 5 cyl.
Pros: the fuel economy
Cons: noise when crew windows are open
Advice: this truck is fun & practical for a daily driverfun to drive, excellent ride, steering tight, solid brakes great pick up even w/ passendgers...........
Pros: Size, styling.
Cons: Plastic interior, noise/rattles.
Advice: Good utility vehicle but not too powerful.I've owned this vehicle for a little over a year now. Things I like: Good comfort, just the right size, can do about 80% of what I used my former bigger truck to do. Comfortable ride (it's a truck after all). Things I dislike: Heater fan noise (right from the start), has a plastic look, radio/cd player sometimes unreliable, need to slam doors shut otherwise dome lights will stay on forever or for the life of your battery. More rattles in the interior now than a year ago. Could be more powerful considering the so-so gas milage. Would I buy this again? Yes but only if it were based on the design of the GMC Envoy (interior and power system). It seems GMC didn't have a good understanding of who their potential customers were for this product; this truck is like the red-haired step child of the GMC family.
Pros: The look .
Cons: The crew cab has a terrible wind noise from the rear and very bad rear tire noise when the rear seats are folded down.
Advice: Do NOT get the inline 5 if you are looking for gas milage! 19 at best in city a little better on road trips.DO buy an extended warranty. Warranty direct. com has the best deal!I got the I-5 motor, It has enough pick-up to pass in tight spaces and has all the 'get-up' you need. The ride is good but NOT great! It's a little hard riding on rough roads but it's tolerable. I noticed that it has only one keyed door to enter if the remote ever goes out and it's on the passengers side?!?! What's up with that? To GM: insulate the rear of the cab to stop the noise.
Pros: Crew cab - Roomy back seat for mid size truck
Cons: Limited out of weather storage - Bought locking hard bed cover to alleviate problem
Advice: Get a Rhino Liner!Ride a little stiff/bumpy but I did get the Z71 off road package - Very quiet ride for a pickup
Pros: Quality and Performance
Cons: The interior door trim - would like a little more cushion - it is too hard
Advice: Give GM a fair shot before buying a new truck - these trucks are nothing like the S-10 or Sonoma modelsIf you are in the truck market, you need to at least test drive either the Colorado or Canyon before making that purchase decision. I am very pleased with my Canyon Z71 Extended Cab 2WD model. The interior quality is a major improvement over the old Sonoma line. It sounds and feels solid. Look at the owner's manual too. The maintenance schedule for the truck is very competitive with the Toyota trucks. I believe GM has raised the quality of their truck line with the Canyon. The price was competitive as well. I purchased this vehicle with I-5 and auto and it was only $900 more than the v-4 model of the Toyota.
