Fredric Aasbo, a contender for the Formula Drift Championship, is having one of the best seasons of his career. He recently was at Irwindale Speedway for the House of Drift in the final round of the Formula Drift Championship, and took a few moments between practice sessions to chat with Autobytel about his racing goals and accomplishments. Fredric drives an orange and black 2014 Scion tC for the Scion Racing team, which he eagerly showed off even as the car was being worked on behind him. He’s been with his racing team for three years, and says it’s been a crazy journey. Though he was a rookie when he joined the team, his skills were evident, considering he earned the Rookie of the Year title for 2010. As the team has learned to work together, its rankings have steadily improved, and the team is ranked second going into the end of the season, with a good shot at the title. Fredric says that a key part of his personal growth over the years has been learning how to calm down and just enjoy what he’s doing. Relaxing allows Fredric to really enjoy his time behind the wheel and make some progress in the rankings. Just a few days after Fredric’s interview with Autobytel, he had to face his competition for a spot on the podium.
