Pros: Interior/exterior looks of car
Cons: brakes
Advice: excellent car for the money
all around this is a preety good car.the only complaint I have is the brakes.the car is hard to stop.if ford offered 4-wheel disc brakes it wound be a perfect 10.Pros: Power seats
Cons: Quality
Advice: Don't buy unless you like cars to break down when new.
This is for the 2001 that is the same car. Handling, styling and comfort a great. All controls are easy to use except the windshield washer control is on the turn signal and is hard to use. Even with the smaller 155hp engine it is above average to go where you want to point it. Here is the bad. The quality is the worse I have ever had in a car. The car as been in for several things including failure to start within the first 5k and the other problems under 14k.Pros: Moon roof
Cons: Left Leg room
Advice: Compare with other vehicles in its class and you will see why I enjoy it so much
Smooth operation and a firm quiet ride are the two things that impressed me the most when I test drove my new SEL. Features such as traction-control, ABS Brakes, 6-CD changer, ETAC heating and cooling and soft leather seats make for a wonderful environment and driving pleasure. I recommend Taurus SEL.Pros: Illuminated keyless entry
Cons: 155 HP engine that comes with the SE
Advice: The 2002 Taurus SE has lots of bang for the buck.
Lots of great features for little money. If you can live with the 155 HP engine, this is a truly great value. Very roomy inside, comfortable seats with adjustable driver's lumbar support, 6 way power seat. Good ride and handling. Decent CD player/sound system. Optional adjustable pedals and ABS are a plus.Pros: Auto Locks
Cons: Wipers
Advice: none
This car is very comfortable to drive. Handels curves wonderful. Brakes are very good. Visibility is good, very little blind space. Wipers are not the greatest, I've had my Taures for 2 months and already need new wipers.Pros: Adjustable pedals and the radio controls at your fingure tips
Cons: Doors that lock automatic
Advice: Drive it and you'll love it.........
The test drive was great. I have been looking for a car that my mother would not have to sit right up on the dash and the Taurus was what I found. My mother and I was really impressed with the adjustable pedals. This has really help her from not being right on top of the air-bag. I would strongly recommend this car for people that are short or if they sit real close to the air bags. This is a strong 3.0 engine.Pros: The SES with leather, center console shifter and standard CD player.
Cons: No power back to the driver's seat and no power passenger seat.
Advice: As stated previously, do not finance this car for five years if you plan on putting significant mileage on the car. Finance for four years and trade after three. If you take care of the car, you should break even.
The Taurus is the salesman's answer to being on a budget yet needing a comfortable, safe automobile in which to travel. Ford has made style changes since 1999 that have made this an attractive automobile. For the money, there is no match if you drive a lot of miles per year(25,000 - 30,000). Finance for 4 years and trade after 3 and you won't take a bath in the deal.
