The 2014 Ford Fusion will see the addition of a new small engine into its lineup. SE Models equipped with the automatic transmission will swap the 1.6L EcoBoost four-cylinder with a new 1.5L EcoBoost four-cylinder engine. The 1.5L EcoBoost produces 178 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque. Compared to the 1.6L EcoBoost, the 1.5L produces the same horsepower wise and seven pound-feet less of torque. Fuel economy-wise, the 1.5L EcoBoost gets EPA ratings of 23 City/36 Highway/28 Combined. This is the same as the 1.6L EcoBoost when equipped with an automatic.
The 1.6L EcoBoost isn't going away though. If you order a Fusion SE with the six-speed manual, you'll find the 1.6L under the hood.
