Pros: Need truck for work, it has been very dependable.
Cons: The wide turning radius and you need a big parking space.
Advice: I have the V-10 engine, I think that is the way to go. I'm not sure about diesels.Best truck I ever had. Always bought GM, my first Ford Truck. After all the repairs on my 1997 Tahoe and the poor customer response, no more General Motors. I have a 2000 Mustang with 94,000 miles, no repairs. 2002 Ford Truck with 48,000 miles, no repairs. Can't say that about anything from GM. Before Tahoe had 80,000 miles replaced transmission, transfer case seals, fuel pump, three batteries, water pump and fuel injectors. Tahoes should come with a pair a tennis shoes because you will be walking.
Pros: Suprisingly excellent ride
Cons: Parking - they make parking spaces too small, sometimes I take up two
Advice: Buy itA very solid, well built truck. After 2 years, 36,000 miles, and heavy use, there's not a rattle to be heard. The truck is a pleasure to drive on a long trip and great off road also. This truck has performed equally well in Death Valley in the summer and Colorado in the winter. I went with the V-10 and will consider the diesel next time. This is my second F-250. The first one lasted 20 years and I expect this one will too.
Pros: 7.3 Power Stroker
Cons: Has only one fuel tank,29 gals.
Advice: If you are goning to pull a trailer with this PU get an aux.fuel tank.Went from Columbus,Oh. to Orlando,Fl.GVW 11500 lbs.Pulled load very well.Road handling very good,Fuel average 11.1 mph.My 2002 F250 is all stock no after factory add ons.
Pros: quad cab
Cons: manual seat
Advice: get the most truck for the money, but consider your own needs,Performed well in all areas; stiff but comfortable ride.
Pros: SOLID truck with power to spare
Cons: Stiff ride, but still very comfortable
Advice: Get the diesel and put in Rubber Floor mats from day oneRides a bit rough but for a heavy duty truck it is excellent. Buy the deisel and it will last forever. Right off the lot I pulled my 26' Boston Whaler and never knew it was back there. For towing and hauling, no other truck on the market can do the job as well. It is a proven performer and Ford keeps tweaking it to make it even better each new production year model. I LOVE IT!
Pros: V10 motor
Cons: Needs radio and air controls on steering wheel, like the Explorers
Advice: I had a Rhino Liner sprayed in my truck bed and highly recommend one if you want to maintain an immaculate bed.The F250 has plenty of power and has an excellent ride. I have the V10 and feel that the extra power is more than worth the gas mileage. In town, I average just over 11 mpg and on the highway, with the cruise set, I average closer to 19. I haven't taken a long trip yet, but will soon and will update the highway mpg. For the heads that turn and the comments I receive, this is one great truck!
Pros: 7.3 liter DIT diesel torque monster
Cons: break downs
Advice: manual everything buy no auto anythingA shelled transfer case, a front end that wonders like a lost butterfly, a useless four wheel drive switch on the dash, door gaskets that leak like the titanic, a transmission that sounds like it is going to blow up beneath me as it reluctantly tries to shift. Would I buy another? yes, with that incredible torque spewing powerstroke that beats many gas engines off the line yet can haul loads that should only be on tractor trailer rigs, IN A HEART BEAT. This truck is a work horse like no other before!
