Love it
Pros: v-8
Cons: bed size
This is one of the best overall vehichles I have owned. Good gas mileage for the size and plenty of power and the fantastic v-8 sound from my custom exhaust. It does every thing from hauling everything I need it to haul, with a custom extension I made for the hitch receiver, to taking up to 4 adults comfortably. It has a style of it's own and no other manufactuer can match it. I am totally dissapointed at Ford discontinuing the Sport Trac. It is different and fantastic. It has a great ride and comfort of a big truck without the huge size of an F-150. Love this truck, or SUT, as some call it!Great little truck
Pros: Small and easy to get around in
Cons: small bed.
Love the truck, but beds on these small trucks is really too little even with the tail gate down.2008 Sport Trac
Pros: Performance
Cons: Transmission
Was a bit pricy...Great great truck..Definately surpassed my expectations. I'm paranoid about the transmission, as well as the vehicle in the long-term..Guess i'll see how it holds up! (Oh..I live on top of mountain with LOTS of snow..Truck is a shure footed goat!!)dEALERSHIP LIED FROM DAY ONE 21MPG IS 15
Cons: dEALERSHIP EMPLOYEES HELPED THEMSELVES
wARRANTY WENT BANKRUPT.tIRES WERE IN SHREDDER IN 18000 MILESPros: electric back window
Cons: sttepping up into the vehicle
Advice: this is more for a sportsman than a day to day transportation vehicle
tight feeling more of a ford f-150 feeling. good smooth running engine.Pros: The V-8 power
Cons: Nothing
Advice: A great buy
This truck is a sleeper. Bought new in 2006, now has 11,500 miles. No serious problems although the six speed transmission reguired an adjustment. The interior quality is excellent with no rattles or low quality materials. This truck is fast, very fast and the V-8 is quiet. Gas mileage is not bad for a V-8. Best in city is 17 mpg and highway is 23 mpg. I really like this truck. The ride comfort is above average for a truck. Paint is showroom, color is Black Cherry and it evokes positive comments from outside observers.Pros: roll down back window
Cons: Ford Roadside Assistance - signing up for AAA!
Advice: buy the extended warranty and sign up for AAA
At 54,185 miles, going 75 MPH down I10, either the transmission or the engine blew. Is this an issue Ford is aware of already????? Seems people refer to them as 'exploders' not 'explorers.' Ford Roadside Assistance was worthless. Spent 1.5 hours trying to get them to get us a tow while sitting in 98 degree Arizona heat in June. Finally had to call a tow truck ourselves to get the truck towed to the Tucson Ford Dealership before it closed on Saturday. It's Monday and the Dealership still has not looked at it to tell us exactly what happened and won't give us a loaner car until they verify that the car is covered under the extended warranty! Extended Warranty better cover these costs!
