Pros: The diesel combined with usable space to do anything. And the smile on my face when I drive it.
Cons: It wanders a little on the highway.
Advice: Get a loaded 2 wd, install swaybars and drive it.
I'm almost 60, I've owned over 72 cars and trucks from Corvettes to Porsches to Volvos and this is one of the nicest all-round vehicles I've had. It gets 17.6 mpg of cheap diesel averaged over 24,600 miles. It has room for what I do, but not too much. It feels much smaller and drives good, albeit not perfect. I had two new Fords in the 70's and 80's and they were junk, this third one is a charm. The diesel is faster to 95 than most sedans and surprises many. It handles fair now that I installed HD swaybars. It rides good, but not great. I sold my 2000 Cad Seville STS and wanted a diesel Surburban, but GM says 'no', their loss, my gain. The EX may not be a plush (and I have the top of the line), but it's 5x the vehicle than a Surburban in any other way. We're now a two diesel family and love the mpg and the lack of maintenance since combined we put over 60,000 miles a year on our vehicles.Pros: diesel and heavy
Cons: fuel mileage
Advice: good choice. very comfortable
power and comfort all in one
