Meet high demand of F-150 and to build the upcoming Transit Van
Ford announced today that it will adding over 2,000 jobs at its Kansas City Assembly Plant to help keep up with the high demand for the F-150 pickup and to build the upcoming Transit commercial van. At the moment, Ford employs 2,450 hourly workers at the plant.
The job creation process will happen in two stages. Stage one will have Ford starting a third shift for F-150 production and adding 900 workers in the third quarter. Stage two will see production of the Transit beginning in fourth quarter, requiring an additional 1,100 workers.
In addition, Ford estimates that an additional 18,000 jobs will be created by suppliers to help support the additional production.
