Cons: the problems
Advice: DON'T buy the Intrepid R/TI ordered a 2002 Intrepid R/T in February 2002. I picked up my car in April 2002. At approx. 2300 miles the check engine light came on. After returning to the dealer many times this is still not fixed. We, (the mechanics) believe that it is the sending unit causing the light to come on. But Chrysler wont let them change that because the 'computer' doesnt say that its bad. So far I have had three coils replaced, 3 spark plugs, the timing was reset twice. It idles very rough, wether it is a cold engine or a warm engine. And because of it, the gas miliage suffers. I go from approx. 25 mpg to 21 mpg when the timing is off. According to the mechanics, it is something in the intake. Therefore NOW they are rebuilding the heads on the manifold. When the manifold was taken off, oil dripped out from everywhere. This has been 7 trips to the dealer for this car to be fixed. And although I believe that the heads getting rebuilt are something all together different from the check engine light coming on. So much for the Lemon Law In Pennsylvania. Chrysler refuses to build me another car. I currently have approx. 6200 miles on this car. Actually I believe that I got a 'lemon'. And there is no one out there to help me!
Cons: gas mileage
Advice: get a five speedWe traded a 99'cougar on a 2002 sxt neon and I like the car over all except they talked my wife into a auto and I would rather have a stick in a four cyl. The car drives great but the gas mileage we're getting is no better than my V8 Dakota, we're getting about 200 miles out of a tank, hoping it gets better after the engine breaks in alittle. Car handles great in the corners. Car is comfortable on long drives,we drove it to West VA about 700 miles total. Should have the 150hp in all models, It needs more than 132hp, It's hard to keep the rpm's up with the automatic.
Pros: I love the sporty look!
Cons: Not many colors to choose from in the R/T
Advice: Buy the R/T - it's the top of the lineLove everything about this car - a lot of car for a reasonable price. The R/T comes with a ton of standard features that are considered optional on most other comparable vehicles.
Pros: Sleek / Fast Looks
Cons: No Factory Spoiler Available / Needs a V-8
Advice: The R/T is priced rightI purchased a Silver Stratus R/T Coupe with 5 speed manual . First look is the great sleek looks . Dealers have very few in stock so colors and options are what ever there is on the lot (1 to choose from) . Car would be even better with a NASCAR style rear spoiler. Car is quick and quiet . Would love to see the Jeep 3.7 V6 or a small V-8 engine . Gas mieage is very good .
Pros: Easy to drive
Cons: ac not cold enough
Advice: go for itOwn a 2002 1500 quad cab and love it; very sapcious. The 4.7 Sounds mean and gets the job done. Tough truck easy to drive and feels nice. if your a dodge fan buy one
Pros: The amount of room and comfortable ride.
Cons: Price, but I liked it too much to worry about that.
Advice: Get the model you can afford. I got the base Sport and love it.I wasn't sure if I wanted this vehicle (going from a little Prizm), but once I test drove it, I knew it was for me. I especially love being able to fit my son's baseball gear in the back. It also does not feel like it will tip over when you turn a corner or go around a curve, which most of the SUV's I considered buying would. It is a very safe vehicle.
Pros: Appearance and comfortability.
Cons: The squared edges of the dashboard
Advice: Go for it!This truck doesn't feel like your driving a truck! Easy handling and a VERRRY smooth ride.. I traded in my Ford F-150 for this truck and never thought I could be this blown away by its performance and appearance. If you haven't been able to make up your mind, test drive it, that's all it will take for you to choose this truck. I'm happy with the decision I made to switch from the Ford F-150 to the Dodge 1500. (Watch out Ford, there just might be a new best selling truck in the coming years, and it won't be a Ford.) By the way... go for the 20's (rims)
