Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: The leg room
Cons: The factory stereo
Advice: If you have kids, get leather seats! The pull to the right that everyones talking about was a concern at first, but I guess either it went away or I got used to it. Nothing beats the room in this car. I'm a tall guy with tall friends and we fit great in the front and back seats. When I'm with my family, we have plenty of room. Trunk space is great, but if you install an aftermarket system, make sure you get a smaller sub for custom enclosures if you want to save trunk space. Also, make sure the installer's can reprogram your computer if you get a remote start feature on your alarm. Ultimately one of the best cars I've had.
Pros: Navigation system
Cons: cruise control operation
Advice: Ask lots of questions about the gtransmissionI have owned my MagnumRT since Jan '05, and the transmission has left me stranded twice. I have never had a car do that with 10,000 miles. Other than trans., great car.
Pros: Style & Hemi
Cons: Attracts too much attention...
Advice: The Borla exhaust leaves no doubt - it's got a Hemi...It makes driving fun again...
Pros: The design
Cons: Have none
Advice: Definately give it a tryAfter 8 years of riding an SUV, this is the most comfortable and enjoyable vehicle I have ever had.
Pros: Dash layout
Cons: Cruise control control
Advice: Wait for 2006 because of transmission bug - past models had solenoid problemsThe car ran and handled superbly with the six. The transmission exhibited a harsh downshift from second to first which caused the 'service engine' light to come on. A second car didn't exhibit same problem. Cruise control is in there somewhere!!! Overall fit and finish excellent. A first-class effort by Dodge.
Pros: The Hemi
Advice: Drive one or two.....Just bought a 2005 Magnum RT-AWD. I'm in love with everything about this car! The handeling is tighter than anything I've driven, the throttle at full is smooth as silk with plenty of power to spare. Was really impressed by the interior layout and comforts Dodge put into the car. This doesn't feel like a large car at all and you can feel the german engineering under you as you carve the twistys and torque up the mountain grades. I threw a set of medium flowmasters on and the throaty sound alone demands respect. Seemed most dealers were selling with loaded packages as an inventory standard. I drove the rear wheel drive, however the AWD seemed to be a more solid handler having all four tires biting down on the road at all times. The saftey features were a big seller for me with side curtain airbags and the ESP for the slippery seasons. I would recommend this car to anyone who appreciates the days of the solid old fashioned American Automobiles!
Pros: The look and the Hemi.
Cons: Should have been a light in the center console and something to hold the gas cap in place.
Advice: Buy it with the Hemi!!!I absolutely love everything about this car. People stop me all the time to ask about it and tell me how great it looks. You have to get the Hemi cause the power is unbelievable. The pickup is so incredible.
