Pros: THE LOOKS & IT'S NOW A GOOD SLEEPER
Cons: THE PRICE FOR WHAT I RESIVEDFRONT OF VEHICLE WAS TO LOW. TO DRIVE IT OFF THE RD. IN THE 4X4 MODE. FRONT SUSPENSION WAS VERY POOR DESIGHN.. INSIDE HAD NO COLOR OPTIONS. SKID PROTECTION WAS NOT NEEDED AS IT COULD NOT BE TAKEN OFF RD. AS DELIVERED FROM FACTORY HAD TO WAIT UNTILL AFTER MARKET SOCKS WERE MADE FOR IT ALONG WITH A LIFT SYSTEM THAT WOULD BRING THE FRONT END UP TP REAR END. WOULD HAVE TO CHANGE GEARS IF I WANTED TO DO ANY SERIOUS 4 WHEEL OFF ROADING. BY LIFTING FRONT END & STRONGER SHOCKS THE TRUCK ROAD MUCH SAFER. STOCK SHOCKS WERE TO LIGHT & NOT SAFE. THEY WOULD NOT WORK ON TN. BUMPY ROADS. WHILE DRIVING AT OR BELOW SPEED LIMIT THE TRUCK WOULD NOT HOLD THE ROAD. AFTER ALOT OF WORK, I NOW GET REAL HONEST GAS MILEAGE OF 20-26 MPG DEPENDING HOW I DRIVE IT & 400HP! I'M A 65 YR. OLD RETIRED DEPUTY SHERIFF & AKID AT HEART!
Cons: Brake SystemDecent appearance, comfortible, runs good but the brake system sucks in this truck.
Pros: size of truck
Cons: no cruise control
Advice: a recomend buyhandles real well good acceleration and good turning radius.
Pros: leg room in front and back.
Cons: haven't found anything yet that I do not like.
Advice: Shop and compare, I looked and tested the Ford, Chevy/GMC, and Toyota and Loved the Dodge. This is the first Dodge I have ever owned and because of it will not be the last. All the professional reviews I have read before buying had 2 common complaints, it floated/drifted when driving and the acceleration was not very responceive. I am guessing that is the 3.7, because I have the 4.7 with a 6 speed and the handling is awsome, I feel more like I am driving a car not a truck and the acceleration is great. MPG apears to be 19.5 highway and 16.5 city which is extreemly acceptable, plus I plan on adding a stage 1 jet chip which will improve that.
Pros: POWER OUT OF THE 4.7L V-8
Cons: Cracks in the sides of leather seats/CD player sticks occasionally
Advice: Get it loaded to the gills, you will be glad you did!2004 Dakota Quad Cab with 4X4 and a 4.7L V-8 I purchased this TRUCK new about two years ago. All options, leather, cd, pwr driver's seat, etc. I have enjoyed the truck with the exception of: 1. The cd player malfunctioning occasionally (does not recognize a cd at times; must turn truck off and start again to correct-Chrysler is aware of the issue and I have had the stereo replaced three times. TIME CONSUMING??? Yes); 2. Leather quality (sides of seats are cracking-must be vinyl). 3. Gas Mileage-But I don't complain, this thing will pull a tree out of the ground....
Pros: Power baby....Passing Power!!
Cons: overly powerful new car smell
Advice: Try an American truck before you buy a import!Overall a great truck. I had a 93' dakota for the last 7 yrs and it never let me down so I decided to try a new one. I was not disapointed. This thing is great! my 93 has a 3.9 V6 and never got more than 12 miles to a gallon.. the 05' is getting around 15 city and 19 highway and its a 4.7 V8! I heard they get better with breakin too. Not too bad for a truck of this capacity!
