Advice: Get questions answered before buying.I did internet research before I hit the dealerships. Six out of seven of the dealerships I visited had sales people who I would consider almost completely ignorant concerning the MDS system and some of the other features. I bought a R/T with the R/T package two months ago in September. The odometer had eight miles on it when I test drove it. I took great care to break it in properly. I can not even get the 23 miles per gallon traveling down hill from Midland to Fort Worth TX with a tail wind traveling 65 MPH, no A/C or traffic much less the 25 MPG as advertised on the window sticker. I used the cruise control and the “FUEL SAVER MODE” indicator was lit approximately 83% of the time. For two months I have been trying to get in writing Dodge’s definition of “LIFETIME WARRANTY” and some questions relating to the electronic stability program (EPS) for “NORMAL, MINIMAL AND DISABLED MODES” answered. I e-mailed firstname.lastname@example.org. They referred me to page 223 which concerns my parking brake and parking on a hill. I mailed them back explaining their error. They replied informing me they could not help me. I had a problem with GM and their head gaskets a few years ago. I was informed they would replace a part only once even if it was still under warranty (Special Policy 98054A.) Replacement of the second head gasket was at my expense no matter the miles or months. What is the life expectance of a car, 100,000 or 150,000 miles? Some consider lifetime until the part wears out. That is the lifetime of the motor, transmission, etc. no matter if I am the original owner. How many times will Dodge replace or rebuild a motor?
Pros: The color and shape-I have the Torred and it looks like a lightening bolt cruising down the road.
Cons: The fact that once you own it, you are a police magnet.
Advice: Not a car for your teenager to drive. Too much power for a young driver. The RT is fast and easy to handle. I have owned the Mustang GT and this has far better handling and power. It has room for passengers and although the interior looks like it may be very simplistic, the vehicle has all the conveniences that you want, many are just hidden well. Read the owners manual to see where everything is on the dash. Lots of fun.
Pros: The muscle look.
Cons: interior - plastic look, as with all new vehicles
Advice: it is a beautiful car. I really gets up and goes!!Well I am used to driving with power. I drove the Mustang, not really impressed. Drove the Charger SRT8 and holy-tolito 'it is all that.' I test-drove the charger on the freeway and performance was awesome. 0 to 60mph in seconds. I like the idea of the quick shift or slap stick. This is definitely a plus. Best car of 2007 for sure in this price range.
