Corvette C7-R Debut Video at Detroit Auto Show

Believe it or not there are some things you can do with a street car technology wise that you cannot do on a race car due to rules and regulations. This is the case with the new Corvette C7R and its Z06 brethren. For example, the street Z06 has a supercharger, ceramic brakes, magnetic selective ride control, and an electronic limited slip differential; all of which are not legal for racing. Something that the new Corvette Z06 has is direct injection and that technology will make it onto the race car. With direct injection the fuel savings might translate into one less pit stop over the course of a 24-hour race.
