Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: The overall safety of the vehicle
Cons: The doors don't open wide enough
Advice: It will hold up well in a collisionMy Pacifica was struck from behind while stopped at a stoplight, by a Honda Odyssey minivan that was moving at about 40 mph. The Honda looked like it had hit a brick wall, and I was able to drive my car home. The rear bumper took the impact remarkably well. I was also able to control the car, and did not hit the car directly in front of me. My husband and I received minor injuries, but I think it would have been much worse if we had not been in my Pacifica. I had the car towed from my home to the auto body shop, and have no idea how much it will cost to repair. At least my insurance company won't be paying for it.
Pros: The look; the seat position (you don't sit DOWN or climb up, you just slide in like a barstool); the price
Advice: Good looking, comfortable, plenty of room w/short wheelbase, BUT it's not economical or fast!Having owned an '03 PT (which our son now drives), we were ready to buy again. The '03 was a 5-speed which we loved; the '05 is automatic which is more convenient but with much lower performance. All in all we love the car. BUT... Chrysler has had a few years to work out the 'bugs' on this thing so why, when I'm driving what is essentially a 4 cyl Neon with a different body, is my milage so lousy!?!? I'm LUCKY to hit 20 mph in town driving like an old lady! On the highway I seldom do better than MAYBE 24mph! These days that's ridiculous. Especially when there's a new 'PT Wannabe' by Chevy that's rated at 35 hwy! I do thank heaven I bought last years, though, as the new front end has ruined the entire aggressive look that made the car special. You blew that one, guys!!!!
Pros: Navigation and DVD player.
Cons: Navigation don't dim at night/ black-out backround like on RX330
Advice: Buy it!!! You'll thank me later!!!I had my doubts with chrysler's reputation. Rental company gave me FWD touring w/ few options on it. From that day on I knew what car to get. Head on to the nearest dealer and bought me a AWD touring with all the options chrysler can offer. This car is PERFECT!!!
Pros: the third row seat
Cons: 3-row side air bags should be standard
Advice: pay the extra for the leather seatsMy husband and I recently purchased this 2006 Chrysler Pacifica Touring edition and are beyond thrilled with our decision! This vehicle has everything we were looking for...third row seats, aesthetically pleasing exterior and a very luxe interior. Chrysler learned a great deal from Mercedes with this SUV...it has the feel of a luxury vehicle without the over-the-top price tag. We opted for the leather seating with the comfort package that included heated seats--ahhhhh. I was also insistent that the supplemental 3-row side curtain airbags be included. The vehicle has a 5 star safety rating all around, but I like the security of having that extra level of safety for my family.
Pros: The overall driving experience is exceptional
Cons: Wish mine had heated seats
Advice: Test drive before you read reviews.Excellent handling and comfort.
Pros: The entire package
Cons: The front seats heater
Advice: Take this for a long drive, than drive everything else on your list, you'll be soldWe have owned this sports tourer since June, 2005 and now have 8500 miles on it, taking several long distance trips without any problems other than a noise our dealer handled during one our free oil changes. Those reviews that complain about their Pacifica are either overly pickey or aren't true drivers, because this cross over is fun to drive and delivers real confidence to the driver that they are safe and secure in there 4 wheel world.
Pros: Navigation in cluster
Advice: Test drive a Touring or Limited model & you'll come home with one.Took a chance of buying this car. First time owning american car. I'm glad I made the purchase. Gas mileage is better than other big SUV. I had 2 lexus rx but the Pacifica is more comfortable to drive.
