2005 Chrysler Town and Country - Passenger

    Pros: Great ride & handling

Cons: A bit under powered; would like the 3.8 engine...

Advice: Give the base and LX a close look before opting for the more expensive extended version

Don't forget the short base model! Easier to park, maneuver and garage. Good, solid ride. Excellent transportation. Easy to get in & out. You still ride high, better able to see all around. We felt buried in our Buick. No tiger on power, but we expect great mileage for a mini-van. Fat, comfortable seats. Saved lots of money over extended version. Still plenty of area to store things. It does lack some bells & whistles of the extended version.

2005 Chrysler Town and Country - LX Long Wheelbase Passenger

    Pros: Stow N Go Seats

Cons: Middle seat in 3rd seat only has a 2 point seatbelt, should have 3 point

Advice: Do a feature & price comparison with competition - Chrysler wins.

Good balance of power and fuel economy. Handling is secure and stable. Comfortable seating with good leg room in all 3 rows. Stow N Go is awesome – provides massive storage in middle and back when seats are up, easily converts to carry cargo. 3rd row seat is split fold, which increases versatility. Has side curtain airbags for all 3 rows and remote power doors. Lots of luxury features, such as trip computer, for the money. Ford and GM vans don't compare, and Toyota and Honda are overpriced.

2005 Chrysler Town and Country - Touring Long Wheelbase Passenger

Pros: the Sto and Go storage

Cons: the quality overall, the cloth seats

Advice: Be careful, make sure you have a good warranty

We first drove the T&C as a rental and loved the storage capacity but the cloth seats are very uncomfortable - to narrowly molded. Leather seats are much better. We ended up buying one. WE have had it less than a month and had a blow out the first day and found the spare tire is a bit of a challange to get to, but worst is that the style of tire is so new most Brigestone/Firestone dealers don't have it yet. It is also expensive but the only tire you can use on it. A selenoid in the transmission is bad and on national backorder for unknown time. There is also some problem with the universal joint because there is a 'pop' every time you turn right and it is now starting to do it turning either direction. When you buy a new car, you do not expect to spend this much time in the shop!
