Consumers Guide Also Honors Four Others from Chrysler Group

The 2015 Chrysler 200 continues to be a hit with consumers of all stripes, recently adding a Consumer Guide "Best Buy" award to a similarly named honor presented earlier this month by Consumers Digest. And as was the case with the previous trophy, the 2015 Chrysler 200 actually was just one of multiple Chrysler Group vehicles to earn the Consumer Guide recognition.
The Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan shared the Best Buy minivan title, as they have for every model year since 2011; the Dodge Durango scored a Best Buy award in the Large SUV category for the third time in a row; and the Ram 1500 extended its Consumer Guide winning streak to seven consecutive years.
“We congratulate Chrysler Group for holding a leadership position in the minivan, large SUV, and large pickup categories despite improved competition," said Tom Appel, publisher of Consumer Guide, who also noted: “We’re especiallydelighted to see Chrysler make its mark in the fiercely competitive midsize-car arena.”
But more importantly, so are "real" automotive consumers. Since the 2014 model hit its sales nadir in May of this year, when volume fell 76 percent versus the same month in 2013, the 2015 Chrysler 200 has helped deliver steadily increasing growth rates in August (+7 percent), September (+15 percent) and October (+40 percent). Further, with 11,675 October sales, the 2015 Chrysler 200 managed to climb out of last place on the mainstream midsize leaderboard, topping the Chevy Malibu by almost 550 units; it was the first time the 200 finished ahead of the Malibu in monthly sales in at least two years, which is as long as I went back to check.
Also owner of a 5-star overall safety rating from NHTSA and Top Safety Pick+ designation—when properly equipped—from the IIHS, the 2015 Chrysler 200 is on sale now with an MSRP of $21,700.
