2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - LS 4x2 Extended Cab Short Box

    Pros: Power, comfortable and roomy.

Cons: Cup holders too low on the bench seat

Advice: Buy it, its a great truck!!

L love my truck. On long trips its very comfortable and roomy. Have the 5.3 V8 and its very quick and responsive. I had a mid-size truck previously and I like the added power and roominess. I currently have 4K miles and have taken one 2k trip and so far have not experienced any issues. Mine was made in Canada. I have experienced no issues that I have read in the other reviews.

2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - LT 4x4 Extended Cab Short Box

    Pros: Exterior/engine its a tie

    Cons: nothing

Advice: drive them all and consider resale value

I knew the this was the vehicle for me. from the grey leather and all the comforts of my favorite lounger chair. to the power of a 5.3 liter V8 that can climb or pull just about anything I desire. My kids dont whine about not having enough room, and the best part is its a Cadillac with 4 wheel drive. I recommend anyone who is seriously considering plunking down and spending 25 to 30k to consider this vehicle, remember you get what you pay for....

2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - LS 4x2 Extended Cab Short Box

    Pros: the back seat area

    Cons: mechanical quality.

Advice: Think hard 'cause once you buy it

I purchased this truck with great enthusiasm. The enthusiasm left after a couple of weeks when I found that it was using a quart of oil every 1300-1400 miles and puffing grey-white smoke every few days. The first dealer said that the oil consumption of 1qt/1200 miles was considered normal (a lie, I had a copy of the TSB on it) and that it wasn't smoke, it was steam. I was an engineer in fuels/engines R&D for 7yrs, I know what smoke is! Oil consumption was curtailed by replacing the PCV valve (at dealer #2). Now the front differential is leaking and something in the front suspension is loose, I can hear it clunking and feel it through the steering wheel. Then there's the piston slap issue with GM V8's. I don't have it (yet) but I'm cutting my losses and trading for something else.

2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - LS 4x2 Extended Cab Short Box

    Pros: Engine's Power

Cons: Interior finishing is a little rough

Advice: compare for your self to other trucks.

If you are looking for a REAL truck that has more power than you will ever need, last along time, rides like a four door sedan, and does it all with great looks, than buy the Silverado is the best one out there. Trust me. I looked into the new Dodges, the Ford F-150 and f-250, and the Toyota Tundra. I test drove all of them. The Dodge and Ford f-250 were descent and would work just fine for most, as well did the Tundra. The f-150 felt like it was towing something the whole time and felt disgustingly mass produced. The Silverado was the clear choice for me it had gobbs of power, great looks, great feel and the reputation it deserves. To make a long story short buy it. I have had mine for four months and have 12000 miles on it, I can tell it will not let me down. I had high hopes, and they were filled. I have even got my buddies who drive Fords to admit its a good truck.

2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - Base 4x2 Extended Cab Short Box

    Pros: ROOM

Cons: NOISE UNDER THE CAB--LIKE THE ENGINE FALLING OUT

    Advice: BUY THE V8

UNBELIEVABLE NOISE UNDER THE CAB IN THE V6--- THE DEALER SAYS G M IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT NO FIX IS IN THE WORKS--LIVE WITH IT?

2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - LS 4x4 Extended Cab Short Box

    Pros: Drives like a car

Cons: Radio plays after ignition is turned off

    Advice: Top of line truck

Very comfortable and drives like a luxury car.It can be too nice for everyday truck life. Sometimes you feel bad getting in with your old muddy boots. Gas mileage is not as good as the old vortec series. But a lot more power and they dont make horsepower out of just air. If you want gas mileage buy a four cylinder motor or a moped. If you want terrible gas mileage buy a Dodge Ram. The Chevy will still blow it doors off.
