Pros: 3rd door
Cons: reliability
Advice: run as fast as you can for the exit - do not uy
my gmc sonoma with 4 cylinder engine which is the corporate twin to the s-10 was horrible. in less than 70,000 miles it had blew 2 head gaskets, the transmission went out, it went thru 3 u-joints, the alternator died, the 5-year extended coolant was rusty and need of a change in less than 2 years, and it broke a timing chain that incurred over $1200 in damage1/21/2002 7:18:52 AM
Pros: ZR2 package, locker, 3rd door, POWER, looks, stout unit, 3:73's
Cons: the stock mats don't fit well with the floor undulation
Advice: buy molded floor mats to save your carpet
Surprisingly awesome ride from a 4x4. Tracks great for having 31x10.50's on it. Plenty of torque to merge onto the highway or pass just about anything. 4 wheel anti lock disc brakes will stop this thing just as fast as it gets started. Very capable off road vehicle that will get you there in style. Works just as well going out on the town.1/11/2002 11:37:49 AM
Pros: Drivetrain
Cons: Small back seat
Advice: Buy the extend cab with the 4.3 liter engine
This is my 2nd S-10 4X4. I've owned a Ranger, B-4000, and a Tacoma. This is by far a better truck than any other I've owned. The powertrain of a 4.3, mated with either transmission has much more low-end torque than the others; I highly recommend the 3.73 rear differential. Going over the mountain passes in Colorado is a breeze with the S-10. Off-road, it has performed without a flaw. In my opinion, this is the best compact pickup made.Enter a valid ZIP Code
