Advice: If you need a small truck with a real back seat and 4 doors, this will do the trick.
Good solid ride, typically truck-stiff. A little noise from the rear doors/windows. Somewhat underpowered, particularly when trying to pass (55-65MPH) with the A/C on. Driver controls are conveniently located. -

I have owned many 'off road' compact trucks. The S 10 is the best i have ever bought. I use it as my all around car. I take it off road almost every day through terrain that all others failed miserably in. Along with the off road capabilities, it gives a superb ride on road. The price for this truck is great for all that it comes with. I would recomend this truck to anyone looking for a compact pickup. -

The truck I've got is an excellant truck for me. I've had it for two years as a work truck. I travel 25 miles back and forth to work. Plus haul alot of things with it. I don't rag on it. I take good care of it. That is a key factor to having a vehicle last long. Everyone loves my color, the style of it. I have to depend on it to take me to work and wherever I need to get. So I repay it with nice chrome mag rims, tinted windows, and a last name on the back window so everyone knows whos driving that sweet ride. THANKS CHEVEROLET, FOR GIVING ME A GREAT TRUCK!! -

Cons: taking vehicle in for warranty repairs
Advice: get the extended 5-year warranty
I purchased this vehicle as a 'retirement' car. I have had it in for warranty repairs every 1,000 miles, it only has 13,400 miles on it now. I'm very disappointed. I am pursuing the 'Lemon Law' in California. -

Advice: If dependability is essential, don't buy this pick-up.
I have never had a vehicle towed during the first 3 years of use, that is until I got my S-10. I have never spent more time at the repair shop for warrantee repairs during the first 3 years of use, until I got my S-10. The only good thing is I leased it. I'll be getting rid of it soon, and I will not be considering another Chevy or other GM product. The pickup was comfortable enough, a little underpowered, but the flip side is it got reasonably good mileage. If you are looking for dependable transportation, this is not the truck for you. -

my gmc sonoma with 4 cylinder engine which is the corporate twin to the s-10 was horrible. in less than 70,000 miles it had blew 2 head gaskets, the transmission went out, it went thru 3 u-joints, the alternator died, the 5-year extended coolant was rusty and need of a change in less than 2 years, and it broke a timing chain that incurred over $1200 in damage -

Cons: the stock mats don't fit well with the floor undulation
Advice: buy molded floor mats to save your carpet
Surprisingly awesome ride from a 4x4. Tracks great for having 31x10.50's on it. Plenty of torque to merge onto the highway or pass just about anything. 4 wheel anti lock disc brakes will stop this thing just as fast as it gets started. Very capable off road vehicle that will get you there in style. Works just as well going out on the town.
