Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: The looks, the power, the tons of amenities, the high quality feel, etc... Overall, I feel like I have purchased a high end luxury car except when I think about the low price tag!
Cons: The transmission shifts a little slowly but adds to the smooth ride. Also, the power mirror controls require a stretch from a driving position.
Advice: Test drive this car! I don't care how many years you have driven a Honda or a Toyota, this new Malibu will knock your socks off!WOW! Chevy has really stepped up to the plate on this one! The new design and features on this Malibu are amazing! Soft supportive leather seats, very quick 252HP V6, tons of room, and the rich looks of an expensive European import. Prior to seeing and driving this car, I have always thought 'boring rental car' when I thought about a Chevy sedan. Well, now I feel spoiled every time I drive my new Malibu. I love all the power features, heated seats, rich lines, extremely quiet and smooth ride, and knowing that I saved thousands over an Accord or Camry comparably equipped!
Cons: body looks too square
Advice: Buy it.... it is a Buy!We bought a new 2007 Malibu LS last july, I am amazed at the gas millege, how quiet it is and how roomy it is for a mid size. My brother had owned two of them and told me to look at it. It is great, I pull it behind our motorhome without any problems. It gets 27-33mpg all the time. The first trip, 1000 miles, averaged 33mpg. I feel it is a great buy for anyone wanting a solid mid size sedan.
Pros: The size, sun roof and spoiler.
Advice: Don't buy oneI purchased my car new in June of 2002. I have had problems the last two years. The car will not start, the anti-theft light comes on and the car will not start for up to 20 min.'s. This happens on a daily basis. I have taken the car to the dealership three times and no problem is detected.
Cons: Parking it each night.
Advice: Buy this one!!!!!!!!!We made the mistake or maybe the fortune of drin=ving the 2008 Malibu first. We then drove all the comparable imports. They didnt hold a candle to the feel, comfort, looks and overall performance of the Malibu. We had to have one. We went back and got the one we tested. We enjoy driving it. I look for excuses to go for a drive now!!!!!!
Pros: The two tone colors
Advice: BUY IT IF YOU CAN GET ONE, IT'S AWESOME!!!!!!!We Turned in our Jaguar for this New 2008 Malibu, it's so much more. It drives like a dream and has all the whistle & buzz that we Loved.
Pros: Fit and Finish
Cons: Have not found one yet
Advice: The LTZ has a couple more bells and whistles, but you'll get the same experience with the LT2 with the V-6This is an awesome car! I have been a Import owner for many years. I was very impressed with the interior and fit & finish Chevrolet put into my Malibu. I have been very skeptical about american cars, but this is the first one I felt proud to own. I have owned it for 10 days now. It's a V-6. I got 36 mpg hwy at 65 mph with the a/c on for about 70 miles. I did get close to the sticker of 27 mpg at 80 mph. The interior is very clean looking. The exterior lines/gaps are very tight. It has a lot of punch on the highway. Even at 65 mph, if you need to pass someone, this car has great acceleration. The interior cabin is very quiet. I caught myself going with traffic near 85, but it did not feel like it.
Pros: The looks of an expensive car
Cons: have not found one yet
Advice: Check this car out before buying a Camry or Accord. This is the best car ever!!!
