    2005 Chevrolet Malibu - LS

    Pros: handling

Cons: Malibu Maxx needs a rear windshield wiper

Advice: Give a Malibu serious consideration

We bought a 2004 Malibu maxx LS V6 several months ago for my wife. She has owned Japanese cars since 1990. She rates this car as the best car she has ever owned. The power from the V6 will put a smile on any 'speed freaks face'! However driven at sensible speeds this is an economical car, we average 28.7 MPG, (mostly highway mileage). Quallity of build and is as good as any Japanese car and handles better. We are so pleased with this car that I have traded my eclipse in for a second Malibu, this time a sedan with the 2.2 liter engine. At first I thought the 2.2 liter engine might be a bit under powered and struggle going up the hills we have around here. This is not the case the 2.2 liter models have adequate power for most situations and returns good fuel economy. (33.6 mpg). Let me assure you I drive in quite a spirited manner. Finally I recommend you take a good hard look at this car. This is one American car that Americans can be proud of. This is coming from a Scotsman who has owned and driven cars manufactured by the worlds leading motor manufacturers
