Not worth the money
Pros: The cargo space
Cons: Reliability
I bought my Maxx used and have had nothing but problems from the moment I drove it off the lot. The ignition system fails to start the vehicle at some very inopportune moments due to an interlock with the security system that won't allow ignition. And there is a popping noise in the steering column that no one can find.Pros: small and yet roomy
Cons: bad brakes and transmission
Advice: be prepared to have the brakes replaced around 45,000 miles (happened on both of my Malibu's). Get the extended warrenty so you can get GM to pay for their poor product.
Purchased 2004 Malibu Max in Dec 2004. With 45,000 miles on it I had to replace the brakes and as of Nov 18, 2007 I had to replace the transmission with only 54,000 miles on it. The warranty is for 3 years 36,000 miles and that's also when the powertrain warranty expires. Now I have to pay $3100.00 to buy a rebuilt GM transmission that has a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty on it. Figure that one!!! I've had GM's in the past and after this piece dies, i'm switching to foreign. I won't buy a GM again.Pros: Power
Cons: Gas Cap
Advice: The 2005 Lt Top options for less money!!!!!! Search the internet and pay tons less....
I am speachless!! This car is the best car Ive ever owned. It has it all. Power, looks, good gas mileage. It has every option and more. I bought the top model and because I bought it used with (30000 miles) I got a GREAT price plus certified!! The gas cap was the only thing Im changing because it didnt come with a locking one. I had the dealership order one.... I AM SOOOOO HAPPY!!!!Pros: Looks
Cons: Radio
Advice: Take it for a spin
I've been driving this car since Dec.'05 and she is running great! It's a lot more fun to drive than I would have expected. Exterior fit and is trimmed well, while the interior is roomy and very functional. Nice interior trim as well. Dash instrumentation is easy to see and clean looking, but the radio buttons are a little much. Could have used more gears, but it's quite peppy with its 240HP 3.9 V6 engine. There is a lot to like about this car...but too bad GM wants to discontinue it next year. Its affordable, highly functional, and sporty too! Haven't had this much fun in years. People comliment it all the time, and there are many headturns when its in the parking lot. Too bad that there are no aftermarket parts yet and Chevy missed the boat on that one as well. Go out and get one before they are all gone.. this one is a keeper!Pros: handling
Cons: SKY LIGHTS terrrible terrible terrible!!
Advice: fun to drive and priced right.
Purchased 05 Maxx LT w/dvd player. It is fun to drive and handles well have 10,500 miles and took it on 600mile trip handled and drove well the seats got a little uncomfortable the last couple of hrs but over all OK 32miles per gallon going 75-78. You do get road noise. We did not get a remote with the dvd and they said we wouldn't need one but that was not true cuz some movies won't start with out it. Absolutely HATE THE SKY LIGHTS (I call them) over the back seats! That should be an option!!Pros: I really like all the features ... the onstar the xm radio and dvd player
Cons: Tranny and brakeing
Advice: This car seems to be a pretty good buy for the money.
Could have better brakes and transmision. But over all not a a bad car. Never really get a chance to check horse power and connering with test drives. This car has a very smooth ride to it. I wish they would have made a manual stick. I hate automatics.Pros: The Interior
Cons: Great Package for the money no complaints
Advice: Drive it and you will see it has room and the looks!!
Has a lot of power off the line and gets a lot of looks. Two thumbs up!!
