Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: Sound System
Cons: Plastic looking dash
Advice: Take the car on the freeway to get the real feel of the car.We have owned it for 5 months and 6900 miles. Not one problem with the car. Great performance and gas mileage. We get a lot of compliments on the looks of the car, this is always nice when you but a 'Family Sedan'. Chevrolet did it right on this car. They have me back as a customer after trying other makes the last 20 years.
Pros: Bench seat for six.
Cons: No light in glove compartment.
Advice: Don't keep past 45,000 milesI enjoy the smooth ride of the sedan over the tighter road feel of the LS. Dual air controls and keyless entry are nice new standard features on my 2003. Upgraded radio is definitely a must unless you intend to add your own. My previous 2000 had annoying trim problems, like inside trunk handle that fell off, coffee cup holder that broke, and rubber window gasket that ripped. Not to mention front end chassis cracked. That is why I lease, not buy.
Pros: evrything!!! and it goes great in the snow too,as we live in the snow belt .
Cons: that i didn't get one sooner
Advice: definately get the powerful 3.8 thats what i gotWe love our impala ls !! we got the totally loaded check all boxes sport package, and this car will hold its own against smaller lighter cars like the foreign imports,(and i test drove a chrysler sebring what a joke ,they need to get a better tranny in those things because it slows it down severely they are suppose to have 200hp i can tell you thats not true ground horse power they are SLOW!!) also the quality has been super (some of the new car reviews I've read on other cars are scary)but my impala seems good so far with 8,000 miles no problems, but we did have to have the e-brake adjusted up and thats it!
Pros: Dual Climate Control
Cons: I can't think of a thing that I don't like about our Impala.
Advice: Get all the extras you want or can afford - they are worth it!The most sporty family car you can buy. Like having a Cadillac without the price (I know I traded my Eldorado for one)! It get better gas mileage than our Cavalier!
Pros: Dual heat contols/heated leather seats
Cons: steering wheel needs more cut out areas
Advice: buy it loaded, you'll enjoy the toys!Lots of luxury for medium price! Great looking car. Was the car of my dreams when it was reintroduced in 2000, I got to realize my dream in 2002! I'm impressed with the 28.9 mpg.
Pros: i love the big lights in the rear!!
Cons: i wish it came standard with cd and cassette!!
Advice: it is a great car and a great value!!!i had the 2003 for 2days now and am in love!! it is very comfortable and roomy the style overall is the best in its class..
Pros: STYLE - INTERIOR EASE OF MAINTENANCE
Cons: O.E. GOODYEAR EAGLE GA TIRES - SCRAP
Advice: DEMAND A TIRE CHANGE FROM ANY GOODYEARSAfter 1,000 miles, the scrap Goodyears were replaced with Michelins...the ride and handling took a 1-8-0 for the better and it was good to begin with. Adding a K&N air filter and dual exhausts created a good driver for both groceries and long rides. Did a side-by-side with a Taurus...once the brakes were compared, the Impala was an obvious choice. 4-wheel disks are a 'must' today. GM gives a buyer a lot for the money. This is an honest performer that won't thin out the pocket book. Dealership service is excellent....made the purchase and service process a good experience.
