Pros: 6spd trans.
Cons: nothing
My baby hasit all for any sports car enthusiastPros: the information center
Cons: it seems to leave the ground when you take a curve fast and hit bumps.
Advice: take advantage of the zero percent financing when possible.
I was thilled the whole time. This has been a wonderful year of driving. The concerns we have had have been addressed and we enjoy this car. We had concerns about the tires they were losing pressure. After two visits the problem seems to have been taking care of. We thought the information center may have been malfunctioning but it is ok. We have a dealer in Upland, Ca. that takes great care in giving good service, but it comes with a price. You will see that when you get your bill. We are going to the L.A. auto show and we may elect to buy another new Corvette Coupe, a 2004.Pros: The end of year price was reduced by $8,000 to $39,800. Really a great deal for the money.
Cons: Outdated image inside/out, masses of plastic interior, chassis leaves the driver remote from the action, not much else.
Advice: If you cannot afford a ferrari or a porsche but want the......you can find much excitement in slower, cheaper cars! Corvette!
The Corvette transmission really saps performance. When I punch the accelerator, it doesn't seem to find the right combination of torque and rpms (in other words, it goes to too low a gear, overrevs and then loses speed when it shifts). Heavy traffic would eat the clutch in no time plus wear out your leg. I drove a freinds' Porsche 996TT last year and the corvette isn't even close. The Porsche scared the heck out of me.Pros: Heads up Display
Cons: No map pockets
Advice: Buy the automatic
This is a well refined and extremely satisfying vehicle. It gets more looks per dollar and is the best performance per dollar of any other car on the road. It is a performance hot rod that can be driven everyday, with an automatic and all the creature comforts. Overall quality of design, construction and implementation are all excellent. If I had any minor complaint, it would be the lack of map pockets and it could use a better cup holder, very minor concerns in the overall scope of the vehicle.Pros: Performance
Cons: None
Advice: Just do it...
Ahh…where to start? I used to own a 1985 IROC-Z so I was apprehensive about the ZO6 clutch and ride, upon the first test drive I was extremely surprised with how easy the clutch was to engage and how supple the ride felt. As for the power and handling the only thing that can be said is AWESOME! I was so happy I had to hide my smile from the salesman so I wouldn’t completely blow any chance of getting a good deal. Although I’ve only owned the ZO6 for a short period of time every time I drive it I can't stop from smiling. For that matter every time I look at it I can't stop from smiling. :-)Pros: Concept
Cons: Quality is extremely bad
Advice: Do not buy!
There are several GM documents out on exhaust and transmission noises that they can not fix. GM is not telling customers about these issues prior to purchase. I had a 2002 with an exhaust rattle they can not fix. I now have a 2003 with a transmission rattle. All they say is that is normal. No car should rattle like these did.Pros: Head's up display is great.
Cons: cup holder
Advice: Great car to buy and drive
Spectacular car. Acceleration is unbelievable and handles very well.
