2016 Chevrolet Colorado - Z71 4x4 Crew Cab Short Box

I waited 3 years for this truck. I ordered the Diesel option on Feb 8th, it was delivered on March 30th. After 3 months and 5,600 miles I am amazed that this truck drives like a car, sips diesel fuel and has all the amenities of an upscale SUV, but can tow as much as my son's F-150 XLT with a 5.0 liter V-8. Chevrolet hit a homer-make that a grand slam! I am glad I spent the extra money on the diesel. 27MPG around town and mid 30's on the hi way.

    2010 Chevrolet Colorado

    Best 'small' truck I've driven

    Pros: performance of V8

    Cons: lack of storage space

Performance w/5.3L V8 is excellent! It is quite, smooth riding, and quality is very good. The only minus I've seen is the lack of real 'space' for putting anything other than your self. It should also have a connection for I-Pod and steering wheel controls for audio. Overall it is a very good small truck!

2004 Chevrolet Colorado - LS w/ZQ8 Sport 4x2 Regular Cab

Pros: My favorite feature is the handling. It's great fun!

Cons: The turning radious is poor. I find that parking my son's 04 Silverado extended cap is easier to park.

Advice: Don't let the winers dissuade you. Drive one

I own a 2005 Sport entended cab w/14,000+ miles. I love this thing! I am surprised by many the negative reviews I've seen over the past couple of years. I have had 2 problems. The CD/sterio has been replaced twice. Apparently this is an issue with the Tahoe's and the other large GM vehichles, at least for the '05 models. The other issue is the poorly designed latches on the under jump seat storage boxes. I just had one box replaced under warrenty. It turns out that Chevy has come uo with a better desugn for the latches. The 3.5 ltr. engine is flawless. It isn't noisey, but is smooth with a great torque band. It was a bit noisey at first, especially when I installed a K&N air filter. That all went away by 1K miles. The auto trans has been fine. I see that the engine has been made more powerfyl for '07, but I don't care. I do have the sport suspension, so obviously, hauling huge loads isn't a priority.

    2005 Chevrolet Colorado - w/Z85 Standard/1SC 4x4 Crew Cab

Pros: I like the look of the truck.

    Cons: Sub par front seats

Advice: Buy the vehicle but expect a uncomfortable seat.

My only problem with the Vehicle is the poor support with the front seats. There is little lateral support.

    2004 Chevrolet Colorado - w/Z71 Off-Road/1SE 4x2 Crew Cab

    Pros: Great looks & Z71 off-road suspension

Cons: High-pitched engine noise at high RPMs. Not a deal-breaker though.

Advice: Get it only if you intend to use it for light-duty tasks. Otherwise get the Silverado.

This is a great buy if you need a light-duty truck. The interior is plenty comfortable and the ride is surprisingly smooth. The I-5 engine has adequate power but not great (but hey it's a pickup not a sports car - are you going to race it?). Don't get the four cylinder. I've done quite a bit of off-roading with this truck in the Idaho Rocky Mountain back country and it's performed admirably every time. I've not tested it's towing or max payload capabilities, but if I needed a truck with high capacities, I would have gotten a Silverado. With the employee discount I got this truck at a great price and am quite happy with my decision. I must honestly say though that if it weren't for the discount I probably would've gone with the Tacoma.

2005 Chevrolet Colorado - Base w/Z85 Standard 4x4 Regular Cab

    Pros: Room

    Cons: Road vibration.

Advice: Drive it more than a few miles before making a decisiion to buy

Z85 reg cab 4X4 LS: Vibration @ road speed not corrected after replacing 6 tires. Passenger seat rattles even after replacement. Road shock through body and steering is terrible. 3500 I-5 engine does NOT have the power of a 6, but mileage is decent @ 24.9/gal. Dark primer under yellow paint shows ALL paint chips. Drain holes in the bed are in poor location, allowing water to stand. Brake and clutch pedals are too small and close together. Road/wind noise are objectionable. Leg room is great. Arm rests are hard.

    2005 Chevrolet Colorado - w/Z71 Off-Road/1SE 4x2 Crew Cab

    Pros: Interior Room

    Cons: Small Bed

Advice: If you have a family get the crew cab

Excellent truck for light hauling, good milage and most comfort in class (considering I am 6'6' 270#)
