2005 Chevrolet Cavalier - Base Coupe

The front seats are bucket seats with minimal support for the lumbar, so long trips can become painful. The front passenger side feels every bump. The whole dash assembly had to be replaced last year due to faulty motors in the gauges. There are a lot of plastic pieces involved in the dash assembly also. I love the sporty look and feel of the car. The gas mileage is fantastic. It still has "get up and go"

2005 Chevrolet Cavalier - Base Sedan

    Pros: the cd player

    Cons: the way it performs

    Advice: do not buy

the car drove well on the test drive. after driving the car for a week i started having problems with the performance of the car on the interstate doing 70 mph. the car would start missing and at stop lights or stop signs the engine would just shut down even turning at intersections it would shut down halfway through the turn. i have had it back to the dealer on 4 different occasions with no satisfaction. i would never buy this car again.

2005 Chevrolet Cavalier - LS Sport Coupe

Pros: Gas Mileage at well over 32 MPG average makes this an excellent little sporty car

Cons: The stoped making this great little car early in 2005 making after market products difficult to find

Advice: Get the XM radio option it includes a lot of great features for the other bands and CD.

Great little car with a lot of pazazz. Looks and runs great and gets exceptional gas mileage can easily get over 35 and up to 38 (w/o AC operation).

2005 Chevrolet Cavalier - Base Coupe

Pros: enough room in backseat for 2 booster seats and 1 baby carseat

Cons: fuel mileage could be better

Advice: go for it. shop around, there is value for the money in this car

The Cavalier Z24 2001 model is what I test drove with my wife and 3 children. I like the fact that the back seat was big enough to put in 2 booster seats and one baby car seat. That is a nice feature. It looks very sporty with chrome wheels, sunroof, tinted windows, spoiler and navy blue.

2005 Chevrolet Cavalier - Base Coupe

    Pros: Reliability

Cons: Replacing factory stereo is pretty involved

Advice: Buy it. It has the same powertrain as the cobalt for much less.

The suspension and handling was far better than that of any Honda that was 50% more and it had way more acceleration. I test drove a Honda Civic because car & driver gives them good reviews for some reason. The handling was terrible, the car was loud and had no acceleration. I also test drove a Hyundai Tiburon. That was slow and very loud. I recall 3700 RPM doing only 70 MPH in the 5 speed. The Toyota Matrix was loud, slow, expensive and it too had no acceleration.
