Pros: Ride - Comfort
Cons: Gas Hog 15 to 16 MPG
Advice: Be prepared for a treat!!!!!!!!Excellent Truck met all my expectations....
Pros: the roominess of interior
Cons: I haven't found anything yet
Advice: If you want room, power, and versatility this has itthe first time I drove my avalanche, I was hooked. Later thesame day I took the wife in for a drive and she too liked the ride, the power, and especially the room. We have taken it to the Florida keys and use it for all travel. I average 18 miles to the gallon on the highway, and would definetly purchase one again.
Pros: To main to list, the comforts of 4 Wheel drive, Onstar, Heated Leather Seats, and an awesome drive train, plus every other feature of this truck.
Cons: Gases prices, but think of it as insurance, if you ever were in an accident, you’re very safe in this vehicle. Now imagine a little car the gets 30 plus to a gallon, ouch, where are the savings now?
Advice: Get every option available; you deserve it, you made the right choice to buy an Avalanche! This is One Bad Ass Truck! Bought my Z71 with every option but DVD. It is so comfortable inside you can live in it. Lots of power from the 5.3L V8, 295hp equals zero to 60 in around 7 sec, not to bad for a vehicle weighing in at almost 6000 lbs. Drove my off road in a foot of snow with out a single problem. Load it with 40 sheets of 1/2 inch drywall, it felt and accelerated, like diving with an empty load, truly awesome. I can not wait for the 2007; I am going to be the first in line to get one.
Pros: Aggressive appearance
Cons: Door locks are a bit chincy
Advice: Buy the truck prepare to buy the gasI just purchased a 2006 Chevrolet Avalance 1500 Z71 and could not be happier. I highly recommend this truck.
Pros: truck look with great ride
Cons: gas mileage
Advice: go get one!Had a 97 suburban and a 2000 this rides as nice, and can do more, Love it, waiting for the hybrid version.
Advice: Save $$$ by buying a slightly experienced oneWhat an amazingly versatile vehicle! The Avalanche handles like a Caddy yet can be converted to haul drywall in a matter on minutes! Plenty of room for 5 adults inside, with enough cargo room in the bed for all of their gear... The performance is not lacking, although the brakes seem a bit undersized for the weight of the truck. can't say enough about it...have haulled a kayak on the roof, camping gear for 3 for a week in the back + the adults. Have driven 15 hours straight without even the hint of a sore back - just an amazing product
Cons: Gas Mileage
Advice: With the GM and dealer incentives I foundIf you need a truck once in a while, but want a luxury car feel, this is THE vehicle! Much better ride than my Buick Park Avenue yet has truck bed when needed. I bought a silver Z66 with leather, 6-CD player, moonroof, etc. (no body armor which I notice more and more are going to.) I LOVE IT! - I've had major positive feedback even from strangers in parking lots! Only drawback: Gas mileage. I'm averaging 14-15 - my Park Avenue was getting 23mpg. With a 31 gallon tank, prepare for $50 tank-ups! Go for it!
