The XTRONIC CVT is a line of continuously variable transmissions found in many of Nissan's vehicles. Nissan has been working on CVTs for over 20 years, and today's continuously variable transmissions offer excellent fuel economy while still providing good performance. A CVT doesn't need to shift between separate gears like a traditional automatic, instead, they used a steel belt around two pulleys that can smoothly change ratio.
