The Audi tiptronic transmisison is a torque-converter automatic transmission available on most Audi models equipped with the quattro all-wheel drive system. All tiptronic transmissions come with a dynamic shift program (or DSP) that learns the way the car is driven and automatically adapts to conditions and driving styles. The transmission has a sport mode that elevates shift points and encourages more sporty driving. There is also a tiptronic gate that allows for manual shifting, either using the gear selector or the tiptronic paddles on the steering wheel, if equipped.
