What Is The Audi A8 L Long Wheelbase?

The Audi A8 L is a long wheelbase version of the A8 lightweight aluminum full-size four-door luxury sedan. The A8 L's wheelbase at 122.9 inches is 5.1 inches longer than the standard car's 117.8 inches. Overall length is 207.4 inches, 5.2 inches up on the 202.2 inch A8. Most of the extra space is for rear-seat passengers, and the extra length adds about 100 pounds to the car's curb weight. Thanks to the Audi ultra lightweight technology Audi Space Frame the large extended wheelbase car weighs a reasonable 4450 to 4800 pounds, depending on options.

The A8 L is available with three different engines, one diesel and two gasoline. The diesel engine is a 3.0l TDI 24v DOHC V6 that puts out 240 HP and 406 lb-ft of torque. The smaller of the two gasoline engines is the 3.0l TFSI supercharged 24v DOHC V6 that makes 333 HP and 325 lb-ft of torque. The 4.0l TFSI turbocharged 32v DOHC V8 puts out 420 HP and 444 lb-ft of torque.
