Nissan Vehicle Dynamic Control (or VDC) is the name of the stability control system found on Nissan's vehicles.

The system can help prevent under and oversteer by reducing engine speed and applying the brakes individually on specific wheels.

Should you Disable VDC?

The VDC system may need to be disabled in order to get the vehicle unstuck from mud or snow, but is better left on in most other cases.

With the system enabled it is still possible to lose control, especially with sudden steering and throttle application, and it is no replacement for safe driving techniques, however in most situations the Vehicle Dynamic Control system should help keep the car on the road.
