What Is BMW DriveLogic?

BMW DriveLogic is a feature built into some of BMW's highest performance paddle-shifted manual transmissions that allows the driver to customize the way the transmission shifts. The system allows you to choose from several automatic and manual modes. In the manual or “S” modes the shifts get progressively faster as the you go from S1 up to S6. Depending on the vehicle, S6 may also include a Launch Control function to help achieve quick starts. In the automatic or “D” modes the transmission will hold gears longer, shifting at a higher RPM as you go from D1 to D5. D1 may also skip first gear, accelerating from a stop in second gear.
