Ford has announced that the Radio Disney smartphone application will soon be available to Ford SYNC AppLink users. Radio Disney is the first family-oriented music app, and helps keep the entire family entertained 24 hours a day, allowing drivers to stream music devoted to kids, tweens, and families inside their Ford vehicles at the touch of a button, while keeping their eyes on the road and their hands on the steering wheel.

The app is availabe when the driver connects their Android or iOS platform based smartphone to the Ford SYNC system via Bluetooth. The application features family-friendly music by today’s most popular artists, showing a static image of the artist’s CD cover on the screen, along with play and pause buttons to allow the driver to make music selections. The app also features video of artist interviews and live performances, and is widely recognized as a music industry influencer with over 21 million listeners a week.

The Radio Disney app should be available for AppLink users early in 2015. If children’s music isn’t your thing, there are many other music-streaming apps that are compatible with AppLink, which is already available in more than 1.5 million Ford vehicles on the road in North America, including the C-MAX, Edge, Escape, Expedition, Explorer, Fiesta, Flex, Focus, Fusion, F-Series pickup, Mustang, Taurus, Transit, and Transit Connect.
