The 2010 Buick Lucerne is a big, comfortable sedan that is designed to coddle its driver and passengers by insulating them from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. Featuring a large interior that can seat as many as six passengers, as well as a 17 cubic foot trunk, the Buick Lucerne is an excellent road trip vehicle, able to eat up the miles with aplomb. The sedan is available in a wide range of trim levels, and all editions of the car start out with power windows and door locks, cruise control, an MP3-capable CD player and a power driver's seat. Upgrades include automatic climate control, heated leather seats, perforated leather trim with ventilation available for front passengers, and performance options such as Magnetic Ride Control suspension and 18-inch alloy wheels.
The 2010 Buick Lucerne starts out with a 3.9-liter V-6 under the hood. Rated at 227 horsepower and 237 lb-ft of torque, this motor is matched with a four-speed automatic transmission and returns fuel mileage numbers of 17 miles per gallon in city driving and 26 miles per gallon on the highway. A much more potent V-8 engine, displacing 4.6-liters, is available in the Super trim. With 292 horsepower and 288 lb-ft of torque, this engine significantly improves the performance of the Buick Lucerne. The Super maintains the same four-speed automatic transmission, and fuel mileage for the bigger engine drops somewhat to 15 miles per gallon around town and 22 miles per gallon on the highway.
