Volkswagen Certified Used Cars Program

Volkswagen Certified Used Cars are vehicles which have been vetted by Volkswagen as being at the top of the secondhand field in terms of condition and reliability. Certified Used Cars sold by Volkswagen dealerships come with many of the same warranty protections and guarantees as brand new models, giving them an edge when compared against other previously-owned automobiles on the market.

Volkswagen doesn’t allow just any previously-owned model to join its Certified Used Car inventory. In order to qualify for inclusion, only those automobiles with less than 75,000 miles on the odometer and which are no more than five years old can be part of the Certified Used Car program.

After narrowing the pool of candidates, each applicant to the Volkswagen Certified Used Car program undergoes a 112-point inspection that essentially turns the vehicle inside out in a search for any defects or problems that might exist. Automobiles must come with all of their original equipment – including the extra set of keys – and they must be in peak operating condition, with every component from the engine on down to the suspension checking out. Even the cleanliness of the interior and the condition of the paint and exterior trim must present well and be free from any flaws. If repairs are needed, then genuine Volkswagen parts are installed by qualified Volkswagen technicians. Volkswagen also brings all vehicle maintenance up to date and provides records of exactly what maintenance has been performed on the automobile.

Once through the inspection process, Volkswagen outfits each and every Certified Used Car with a free three-month subscription to Sirius satellite radio.

All Volkswagen Certified Used Cars come with a very competitive limited warranty that offers bumper-to-bumper coverage for a two-year period or 24,000 miles – whichever comes first. This warranty is designed to take care of any problems with almost every part of the automobile, including the engine, transmission, electrical system, suspension, electronics, heating and cooling and safety systems.

Also included is two years of roadside assistance, with no mileage limit. Volkswagen’s roadside assistance program covers unforeseen problems such as flat tires, dead batteries, an empty fuel tank, winching and locksmithing. It also offers a tow to the nearest Volkswagen dealership in the event of a breakdown. The service is available 24-hours a day, every single day of the year.
