As we entered summer and left the worst of the pandemic behind, vehicle sales were strong and the economy has gained more upward momentum. That is good news for the U.S., but it is a mixed blessing for those who are about to buy a car. The incentives and deals this month aren’t as robust as they were last month. The future is murky as gasoline prices spike and talk of higher taxes and higher interest rates continue, but one thing remains clear — carmakers want to maintain their positive trajectory through the summer. No, the deals aren’t what they were a year ago or even six months ago; still, generous rebates, lease deals, and other incentives remain available on a broad selection of models. Most dealers have wide selections of 2021 model-year vehicles, and a remarkable number of 2022 model-year vehicles are already being discounted.

These are the best car-buying incentives this month. The offers can vary by region, so check with the dealers in your area to confirm what is available. 

Ford has put together an array of interesting deals and incentives this month. The 2021 Ford Bronco Sport can be purchased with 1.9% financing for 60 months with $500 in added customer cash. A 2021 Ford Explorer midsize SUV can be purchased with 1.9% financing for 60 months with $1,000 in customer cash.  is available for lease at $390 per month for 36 months with $4,290 due at lease signing. If you’d prefer, you can lease an explorer for as little as $356 per month for 36 months with $3,988 due at signing.   

The 2021 Ford Mustang EcoBoost Fastback is available to lease for $349 per month for 36 months with $3,789 due at lease signing. Or you can purchase that same model with 5.9% financing for as long as 84 months. The full-size 2021 Ford Expedition SUV can be purchased with 5.9% interest for 84 months, plus $1,500 in cash back. If you’d like to lease the Expedition, one current offer is $536 per month for 36 months with $5,767 due at signing.

This month, Chevrolet is offering some no-interest financing deals plus several compelling lease offers. If you’re looking for a compact SUV, the 2021 Chevy Equinox can be purchased with 0% financing for as long as 72 months. Alternatively, you can lease an Equinox for as low as $228 per month for 39 months with $2,050 due at signing. The Malibu sedan has a $1,000 discount offer, or it can be leased in many areas for $219 per month for 24 months with $3,089 due a signing. The 2021 Chevy Silverado full-size pickup has a very intriguing deal — no monthly payments for the rest of the summer, 2.49% financing for 72 months plus a $2,000 discount.

The deals continue on the Trailblazer and Traverse crossover SUVs. A 2021 Trailblazer has a $500 discount, or it can be leased for $219 per month for 39 months with $2,159 due at signing. The popular Traverse can be purchased using 0% financing for 72 months. The lease deal is $390 per month for 36 months with nothing due at signing. Chevrolet is offering a wide variety of lease, cash back, and special financing offers on many of its other models as well.

Honda is emphasizing low-interest financing deals this month. Among the most attractive deals is on the 2021 Pilot midsize SUV — 0% financing for 48 months, 0.9% financing for 60 months, and 1.9% for 60 months. The 2022 Odyssey minivan offers 1.9% financing for up to 48 months, 2.9% for 60 months, and 3.9% for 72 months. The 2021 Civic hatchback has a 1.9% financing deal for 60 months or 2.9% financing for 72 months.

Customers with good credit can lease a Honda CR-V compact SUV with 1.9% financing for up to 48 months, 2.9% for 60 months, and 3.9% for 72 months. Similarly, good-credit customers can purchase a Passport SUV with 0% financing for 36 months, 0.9% for 48 months, and 1.9% for 60 months. The low-interest purchase terms on the 2021 Ridgeline pickup are 1.9% for 48 months and 2.9% for 60 months.

Toyota is offering an array of special deals this month on a number of models. The 2021 RAV4 compact SUV features 2.9% financing for 60 months. Or there’s a $750 cash back offer.

The 2021 Toyota Corolla compact sedan features 1.9% financing for 60 months. And those same terms are in effect for the Corolla Hybrid. Most 2021 Toyota Camrys can be purchased with 0% financing for 36 months or 1.9% financing for 60 months. An alternative is $1,000 in cash. The 2021 Highlander midsize SUV currently carries a $750 discount. But an even better deal is the 2.9% financing for 60 months that is being offered on the Highlander Hybrid.

The Nissan brand has an all-new version of its Frontier midsize pickup truck ready to arrive momentarily, so it is doing all it can to clear the decks in its dealers’ showrooms. The outgoing Frontier can be purchased with 0% financing for 36 months. If you want to lease a Frontier, it can be done for as little as $279 per month for 36 months with $3,529 due at signing. The 2021 Nissan LEAF electric car is a particularly hot deal. It comes with a $7,500 discount.

The 2021 Sentra compact sedan and the 2021 Rogue compact crossover SUV also feature attractive deals. Both offer 0% financing for 36 months. The 2021 Rogue can be leased for $219 per month for 36 months with a stiff $5,039 due at signing. You can lease a Sentra for $179 per month for 36 months with $2,929 due at signing. The Nissan Murano midsize SUV can be purchased with 0% financing for 60 months with a bonus of a $3,000 discount.

In addition, Nissan is offering special deals and incentives on a regional basis for many of its cars, trucks, and SUVs.

With the car market getting hotter, Subaru has largely backed away from its long-running 0% financing deal for 63 months. But the incentives are still worthy of notice. The 2021 Legacy midsize sedan continues to have 0% financing for up to 63 months. No-interest financing is also offered on many Subaru models for significantly shorter loan terms.

The Legacy midsize sedan can be leased for a startling $199 per month for 36 months with $2,879 due at signing. The popular 2021 Crosstrek small SUV can be leased for $229 per month for 36 months with $2,429 due at signing or with good credit you can buy it with 0% financing. The 2021 Impreza can be leased for $199 per month for 36 months with $1,999 due at lease signing. Zero percent financing is also offered on the Impreza. Buyers with good credit can lease a 2021 Subaru Outback for $249 per month for 36 months with $2,499 due at signing. It, too, has a 0% financing deal.

While 0% financing is waning as the car market improves, some Jeep models still feature 0% financing for terms up to 48 months. The 2021 Jeep Cherokee SUV can leased for as little as $219 per month for 36 months with $3,969 due at lease signing. The deal on the 2021 Jeep Compass SUV is a bit different — $406 per month for 36 months with $3,749 due at signing. The iconic Wrangler Unlimited is available for lease for just $345 per month for 36 months with $3,860 due at signing. If you’d prefer to buy, 0% financing is available for 36 months.

The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee can be leased for as little as $249 per month for 36 months with $3,939 due at lease initiation. You might find 0% financing for 48 months plus $3,250 in cash is a better deal.

One of the best deals at Kia again this month is on the 2022 Sportage compact SUV — 0% financing for up to 60 months or a 36-month lease at $179 per month with $3,299 due at signing. The 2022 Soul hatchback and 2022 Stinger sports sedan offer 0.9% financing for 60 months. In rear-drive form, the Stinger can be leased for $319 per month for 36 months with $3,999 due at lease initiation.

The Telluride midsize SUV, the 2020 North American Utility of the Year, can be purchased with 1.9% financing for 60 months. Or it can be leased for $339 per month for 36 months with $3,499 due at lease signing. The new 2022 Carnival minivan offers 1.9% financing for up to 66 months.

Deferred-payment offers are rare now, but Hyundai is offering deferred payments on two very worthwhile vehicles: the Sonata midsize sedan and the Elantra compact sedan. They both feature 90 days of deferred payments as part of their incentives. The 2021 Elantra is the current North American Car of the Year, and it can be purchased with 0% financing for up to 60 months. Buyers can not only defer the first payment for 90 days, but also receive a $500 discount. The lease offer is $159 per month for 36 months with $2,899 due at signing.

The 2021 Sonata also has 0% financing for as long as 60 months with payments deferred 90 days and an additional $500 discount. It can be leased for a startling $169 per month for 36 months with $2,899 due at lease inception. The Hyundai Kona SUV can be leased for $199 per month for 36 months with $3,599 due at lease initiation. The all-new and much-improved 2022 Hyundai Tucson can be leased for $219 per month for 36 months with $3,599 due at signing.

Volkswagen has a collection of 0% interest deals this month. The 2021 Tiguan, Atlas, Jetta, Passat, and Golf GTI are among the current VW models that offer no-interest financing. The 0%-financing offers on the Tiguan, Atlas, Jetta, and Golf GTI are for terms of up to 36 months. The Tiguan and Jetta deals also include $500 in customer cash. The Passat’s 0% financing is for up to 60 months. 

Volkswagen is introducing its battery-electric ID.4 compact SUV to the market. It can be leased for $379 per month for 36 months with $3,573 due at signing. The 2021 Jetta compact sedan has a $199-per-month lease deal for a term of 36 months with $2,999 due at signing. The Passat can be leased for $209 per month for 39 months with that same $2,999 due at signing.
