Nissan Certified Pre-Owned Program

The Nissan Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) program lets used car buyers purchase a vehicle which has been inspected by expert Nissan personnel and warranted in a manner that is uncommon in the used car business. Nissan’s CPO automobiles take much of the guesswork and uncertainty out of purchasing a used car, truck, SUV or crossover.

Nissan puts every single vehicle that it considers for CPO participation through a grueling TitleGuard+Plus vehicle history investigation. This produces a report which lists all title information available for a specific automobile, including any instances of salvage branding, indications of fraud, theft or even odometer rollback. Evidence of these kinds of issues in a vehicle’s past is enough to disqualify it from the CPO program.

Nissan is so confident in the thoroughness of the TitleGuard+Plus report that it offers a title insurance policy that lasts the entire duration of the CPO limited warranty. If an owner uncovers any title issues on their own, within the warranty period, Nissan will work with the owner to resolve the problem to their satisfaction.

In addition to a title search, Nissan also limits its CPO candidates to only those cars which are less than five years old, and which have an odometer reading of less than 60,000 miles.

Nissan’s Comprehensive Quality Assurance Inspection is the name for the rigorous testing and examination undergone by each vehicle passing through the CPO qualification process. Nissan technicians pore over every detail of a CPO candidate and replace any mechanical components which are worn out or damaged. They also perform any necessary maintenance and verify that the car looks as good as new, both inside and out. Nissan guarantees that any repairs that are made as a result of the inspection are performed using only genuine Nissan replacement parts.

The warranty protection offered by the Nissan CPO program is one of the most comprehensive in the entire auto industry. All Nissan Certified Pre-Owned vehicles come with an 84-month / 100,000 mile limited warranty that starts from the date the automobile was originally put into service. Nissan claims that this warranty covers 603 vehicle components, including not just a vehicle’s driveline but also its electrical systems and certain suspension components.

Nissan also offers a roadside assistance program that lasts for the duration of the vehicle’s limited warranty. Available 24-hours a day, seven days a week, this perk provides services such as flat tire replacement, dead battery jump-starting, locksmithing and fuel delivery, with a cap of $100 per incident. If the vehicle needs to be towed due to the failure of a component covered by the limited warranty, then Nissan will also reimburse up to $100 of those costs. The roadside assistance package is rounded out by car rental reimbursement (for up to five days) and trip interruption coverage which will pay up to $500 in expenses should a vehicle breakdown strand CPO owners more than 100 miles from home.
