Subaru vehicle sales are kicking butt these days thanks to the move toward cars that are focused on safety, reliability, and comfort. This redesigned 5th generation Forester has fallen in line with the family look. Prices range from $24,295 for the Base model up to $34,295for the Touring model. The Limited trim seen here starts at $30,795.

Up front the grill now has active shutters to help with fuel economy. LED headlights are standard. The most noticeable exterior update is the shoulder line. The rest of the exterior is similar to the last generation. The 2019 model is a little bit longer and wider adding to the interior space. Take notice of the new Jasper Green Metallic paint.

Under the hood is a 2.5 liter flat-four engine making 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft. of torque. The transmission is a CVT unit. Fuel Economy is 26 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway. The interior is where the Forester really shines. Standard on all Forester models is Subaru Eyesight. The seats are excellent, the infotainment screen is crisp, and the sunroof is large. Overall the interior is nicely equipped.

The competition includes the all-new Ford Escape, Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Compass, Kia Sportage, Nissan Rogue Sport, Toyota RAV4.
