The $2.5 million Bugatti Chiron can go from 0 to 60 mph in about 2.3 seconds, which makes it arguably the fastest new production car on the planet right now. But that price tag also makes it one of the least attainable vehicles -- one that very few of us will ever get to drive or even see. Fortunately, there are plenty of fast cars even in the real world, and we’ve identified a group with starting prices below $60,000.
“Fastest” can be defined several ways. For this list, “fastest” means “lowest times from 0 to 60 mph.” Top speed is not a factor here because unless you’re on a track (or exceeding the legal speed limits on public roads), top speed is just a theoretical number.
We’ve also limited our list to cars that seat at least four passengers, thus excluding sports cars with just two seats (sorry, Corvette Stingray).
With those notes in mind, here are 10 of the fastest cars under $60,000.
