First Look: 2020 Mercedes-Benz EQC Electric Luxury SUV
After much anticipation, Mercedes-Benz has finally entered the electric SUV market with its newest offering, the EQC. In Mercedes-Benz speak, "EQ" stands for "Electric Intelligence" and is intended to represent all of the automaker's electric vehicles moving forward. In this particular case, the extra "C" at the end stands for the C-Class, so essentially, the EQC is the electrified version of the company's regular gas-powered SUV, the GLC.
Confused? Don't be! The 2020 EQC is an electric, five-passenger luxury suv. Official U.S. range estimates have not been released just yet, but the EQC should provide well over 200 miles per charge and will be the first EQ model in the Mercedes-Benz lineup. The EV promises to feature everything we know and love about the brand — exceptional quality, precision engineering — and will produce an output of 402 horsepower and 564 lb-ft of torque.
Although production has begun, Mercedes-Benz tells us we'll have to wait until 2020 for the EQC to go on sale. For now, get an inside first look at the 2020 Mercedes-Benz EQC in our video below:
