Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
The SRX is a quiet, comfortable ride loaded with features. Unfortunately, the mechanical reliability is less than stellar. At 112k miles, the check engine light indicates the timing chain needs replacing at a cost of nearly $2000. Yesterday it needed a front wheel bearing replacement. I've owned almost every make of car in my 52 years of driving and never needed a wheel bearing replacement, but then I never owned a Cadillac. Looks like this will be my first and last Cadillac.
I have had two 2008 Cadillacs. One with 257,000 kms (160,000 mi) which was written off due to wildlife this summer: a safe, dependable, versatile, fast SUV. I found a replacement 2008 SRX with only 69,000 kms on it, and after 10,000 kms, find it to be the same high quality in all respects. And it's the Sport model which means 20" wheels, a 6-speed transmission and several other goodies. And it's that beautiful red colour. Great cars.

One of The Best Cross-Over SUV's ever Designed ! Sharp edged appearance luxury vehicle whose multi functional features and design allow for all the comfort, ride quality and upscale flash desired of the CTS Sedan but increased interior room, rear passenger seating comfort and carrying capacity. Even the base model although lacking the added wood & chrome provides an understated presence of ellegance and inheirant quality. Drives like a luxury car. No blind spots with the wrap around rear glass, ample power with the standand 3.8 l V-6, pleasant shift points, great instrumention panel display, real leather. Driving is secure under all conditions with the AWD system & suspension. Choice of colors ranged superb. A huge mistake GM changed the SRX Model Name Plate in 2010 to a smaller, higher, narrower Cross-Over which simply isn't nearly an improvement. Go for The Sport Wagon ! on The CTS Frame which is virtually the old SRX with a lower roof line. Pre-Owned Certified 2005-09 SRX Models are the Best Bargain on Todays Market in a Sports Luxury Cross-Over, the styling is timeless, they're quality proven. Body Work and Fit including Interior Parts are Solid. A Certified vehicle is worry-free driving ! AAA+OH MY GOD, WHAT A CAR!
Pros: comfort of ride and onstar navigation
Cons: no spare tire
Brand new, I bought the luxury AWD version. Driving this car is magnificent. Do not listen to any review that say this car doesn't have the pick up you need for everyday driving. This car is not slow and if you want more speed, through the shift handle to the left in the sports mode. Maybe for young kids who want a Corvette it may seem slow but it has all the power you need for everything else. Plus the ride comfort is nice and soft compared to many SUV's out their as well as great handling. On the hwy with cruise control I was getting over 27 mpg. Best thing in my opinion is ONSTAR navigation. Press the onstar button then tell the person where you want to go. They download turn by turn directions to the center of your speedometer and also to your navigation device maps. A nice woman's voice comes on speaking these directions to your destination while telling you which side of the road it is located on. No programing required. Just tell the real live person answering the onstar button your address that you want to go to or any point of interest that you may be interested in. Techies not needed Fit and finish on this car is also amazing. This is my first GM care in over 35 years. What a pleasure it is to ride in the comfort of this auto
