Advanced 4G LTE connectivity is about to become the next "must have" in the auto industry, and GM's luxury brand will be among those pioneering the technology for the new selling season, with the likes of the 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe. Providing notable improvements in connectivity speed and reliability for vehicle-integrated features —and enabling wireless connectivity for occupants' electronic devices—the 4G setup for Cadillac is being handled by the automaker's OnStar team and will be deployed across the brand's full roster of 2015 products.

However, it's not the only tech toy coming to the 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe and friends. Also on the menu will be the CUE Collection, described as "a new in-car app marketplace" and expected to launch with apps for iHeartRadio, The Weather Channel, NPR and Slacker Radio. It's further worth noting that CUE Collection interface will be usable "throughout the life of the vehicle," according to the brand, which speaks to the projected update-ability of new technology. Other CUE enhancements debuting for the 2015 model year will include text-to-voice functionality for compatible smartphones, along with the ability to custom-tailor automatic text responses (but not while driving, of course).

Cadillac also will leverage its CUE system to provide Siri Eyes Free capability, so that those with compatible iPhones will be able to speak to Apple's virtual valet for screen-free interactions.

As for the 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe, it will offer drivers the same sort of agile and responsive driving experience provided by the premium compact ATS sedan, but made even more dynamic as a result of a two-door body style paired with features like:

  • Two available powerplants—a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbo with 272 hp/295 lb.-ft. of torque or a direct-injection 3.6-liter V6 with 321 hp/275 lb.-ft. of torque
  • Plenty of hot handling hardware, highlighted by sophisticated front and rear suspensions as well as Brembo front brakes
  • Available driving enhancers like all-wheel drive, a driver-adjustable sport suspension and Cadillac's Magnetic Ride Control damping technology

Customers can look for a premium, driver-oriented cockpit, too, boasting cut-and-sewn appointments, wood and metal accents, standard Bose audio, and a robust array of safety measures.

MSRPs and more information about the 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe will be released closer to its on-sale date this summer.
