Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Excellent, dependable vehicle.
Outstanding car except for the seats. Get extremely uncomfortable on drives over an hour. Too small for the average person. Hard, little padding. Side bolsters too severe.
Car Reviews
Pros: how it drives
Cons: a little lump in the back seat that I was told is for cable/wiring, but you can barely see it
I bought my Regal six months ago, after trying drive testing all other important brands (Honda, Lexus, Audi, etc) I just fell in love the very first time I saw it...and definitely after I drove it. It is smooth in looks outside and out, as well as to drive. I feel joy and safe every time I drive my Regal!Been So Good to Me!
Pros: reliability
Cons: cosmetic damage (my fault!)
I bought this car used going into my sophomore year of college and five years, 80,000 miles later I have no complaints. Aside from the standard maintenance it has never asked anything from me. Runs well, has good pickup, and big enough to fit everything I need (people, snowboards, you name it). It's time to move on now, but I'll admit it's been tough to find a car with the functionality and adaptibility to stack up.Pros: Overall quality and Onstar with phone
Cons: No express down on the power windows. Admittedly a minor factor.
Advice: Buy it! You will love it. I'm glad I chose it.
I bought it recently and took it on a vacation to Missouri. I find I love it more with every day that passes. I bought it with every possible option including the touring suspension which surely must increase the road noise and ride comfort but both are very acceptable considering the handling and braking. The car goes willingly wherever I point it without complaint. The gas mileage on the trip was 29 MPG plus a fraction overall. The engine turns at only 2100 RPM at 70 MPH which surely must add years to it's life as well as the fuel economy. I had read prior reviews and found one sentence I agree with. The car rolls so easily and engine braking is minimal due to the high gearing in overdrive. It almost got me a ticket in Missouri but I learned then to watch it carefullyPros: Power and pick up like my old V8.
Cons: To much electronic control and the heater leaks hot air when in the VENT position
Advice: Watch your speed going down hill. No engine braking in OD and a bit in 3rd.
I drove my Regal from Rochester NY to Los Angeles, and back again and a better ride for the money is not to be found. The trunk was full as was the back seat because we expected to be away for up to 4 months. The 3800 V-6 provided lots of passing power on the 2 lanes and interstates and decent MPG too. At the end of the day there was none of the buzzing found in some cars this size. A few negatives: it needs more engine braking down hill, In 3rd I was often coasting over the posted speed limit requiring brakeing, and lastly, when it rains water drips into the drivers side when the window is open the slightest bit. Once on I-10 it was 80 - 85 MPH all the way and my Regal wasn't breathing hard. I'm no expert but curvy road handling was well done. Never felt like I was going to lose it.Pros: Speed, Speed, Speed
Cons: Space, Space, Space
Advice: Make sure its roomy enough for you and kids
I bought this car in Sept of 2002, got the abboud edition GS. The only problem is its not enough space for me. Other than that best sedan to own. Supercharged and Superfast.
