This car handles well for a sedan. The transmission is tuned to shift above 5000 rpms when fully accelerating. The interior could be improved in the quality of the seating. There should be more lumbar support and the seat cushion should be fuller to the rear of the seat. My main concern with this car is the fact that the window regulators go out often due to a design flaw. There is a plastic piece that breaks, leaving the window unusable and most often half way down. The only option is to replace the window regulator with a duplicate GM part that has the same inherant problem. Circular reasoning! The repair cost is $500 for each window. I currently have two bad regulators. Most people I know also have had more than one go bad. Do the math, it adds up quickly. -

2004 Buick LeSabre - Limited
Pros: Quiet strong engine and front wheel drive
Cons: Raggedy power windows
Advice: Spring for a computer diagnostics run. Sniff for mildew. Ask how many times the windows have blown out.
The power windows on this model are made with a faulty regulator. Expect to spend $400-500 for each replacement. I bought this car used, and it had a distinctive musty odor. No doubt from the last owner whose windows must have failed and let in the rains. I have used many bags of DampRid to get out that funky smell. The center console is way too big and 'plastic' feeling, and the back seat legroom is miniture. Great things about this Buick- the stereo, the antenna, nice woodgrain trim and heads up display. Leather seats are comfy upfront for a bigger person. A lot of people ask what colour my car is. At first, I thought somewhere between brown and silver. Another friend said it was 'pewter.' I finally decided that it is exactly the colour of a cellphone. -

Whatever the manufacturer is saying here (pretending to be buyers) about this car, don't believe it. As a fleet manager, I've found Buick quality has been going severely DOWNHILL over the past 10 years (I've had 15 Buicks in my fleet over the past 20 years and have quit buying them this year). The electrical system is full of hijinks: failed coils, onboard computer, window switches, window motors, cooling systems, electronic ignition, timing circuitry - all American-made and literally garbage as far as quality goes. Engine quality and performance is substandard and getting worse since 1997. Vibration issues abound - things keep falling off under the cars. 200 million Americans can't be all wrong - GM's mkt share is tanking not because of price, but because of quality issues. -

Overall mileage from day one to 45,000 miles is 26.4 MPG. Consistently get 31 MPG at 70 MPH on Cruse Control. Have made several long trips and its a great cruiser. Huge trunk. Side mirrors, especially the right one, casuses significant blind spots that you have to adjust to. Pick your dealer carefully. In my area, two are really chevy dealers, but my real Buick dealer is just great. -

Pros: The heated front seats.Heads up display in the windshield. The cost the vehicle over all
Cons: The XM radio. No lock on gas cap
Advice: If you can go with the Celebration package do so.
This is my second Buick Limited, but the Celebration Package is the way to go. White-Gold is nice 2.On Star with the phone is very useful. Love the ride.I get about 26 MPG. So far no faults only 1,900 miles. Fun to drive. -

Pros: Thankfully, the looks of the LeSabre havent changed since I owned my 2000 Limited. The White-Gold/Flash paint adds a pearl-like essence.
Cons: Driver's head room in my vehicle is inadequate if you're over 6' 2'
Advice: Great car! This is my second Limited. This has all the Celebration bells & whistles. The acceleration of the 205 HP engine is great. Buy the Celebration issue.
The 205 HP engine has all the power I need. I find the road noise has been reduced since I owned my 2000 model. The 16 inch tires hold the road very well...cornering is excellent in my opinion. I chose the leather bucket seats, which are very comfortable, and seem to reduce driver fatigue. Oh, yeah...my wife's favorite feature is the heated front seats on a cold Oregon morning (the seat back is heated as well as the seat), while I particularly like the 'heads-up windshield display'. Maybe an old jet jockey appreciates it more than most.
