Pros: Handling
Cons: Window Regulators
Advice: Don't buy
This car handles well for a sedan. The transmission is tuned to shift above 5000 rpms when fully accelerating. The interior could be improved in the quality of the seating. There should be more lumbar support and the seat cushion should be fuller to the rear of the seat. My main concern with this car is the fact that the window regulators go out often due to a design flaw. There is a plastic piece that breaks, leaving the window unusable and most often half way down. The only option is to replace the window regulator with a duplicate GM part that has the same inherant problem. Circular reasoning! The repair cost is $500 for each window. I currently have two bad regulators. Most people I know also have had more than one go bad. Do the math, it adds up quickly.Pros: Power: acceleration is really pleasing and puts me out front ( I have GS option)
Cons: Blind spots
Advice: Select your dealer carefully for satisfaction.
Overall mileage from day one to 45,000 miles is 26.4 MPG. Consistently get 31 MPG at 70 MPH on Cruse Control. Have made several long trips and its a great cruiser. Huge trunk. Side mirrors, especially the right one, casuses significant blind spots that you have to adjust to. Pick your dealer carefully. In my area, two are really chevy dealers, but my real Buick dealer is just great.Pros: handling and gas miliage
Cons: seat belts
Advice: enjoy
i was sold after the test drive a lot better then the 1998 olds i was driving.Pros: (1) Large Car (2) Good gas mileage (3) Smooth and quiet ride
Cons: Image of 'Old Folks Car'
Advice: Good car with a history of good reliability.
Great acceleration for a big car. Great fuel efficiency for a large car, and we are meeting the ratings for fuel use. A lot of interior room and cargo room. Good handling and a very smooth and quiet ride.Pros: touring suspension
Cons: Outside mirrors too high for my very short wife
Advice: Drive it, you'll like it
Good acceleration. Excellent seating comfort Excellent highway feel with the touring suspension.Pros: I love the power seats best of all. Never had power seats before.
Cons: The seats seem hard to set on.
Advice: Just drive it.
I was especially pleased with the quietness of this Buick. The handeling was excellent, very responsive. Surprisenly the 3800 engine is powerful and smooth.Pros: Steering wheel controls and driver's information center.
Cons: Position of the anchor points of both front seat belts.
Advice: Do not expect superior gas mileage. We average 23 mpg highway
I must say that this is the FIRST vehicle I've ever purchased that did not have to be returned to the dealer to adjust minor and/or major defects. We have a 1992 toyota Camry that when purchased new, had to be returned to the dealer at lease 6 times within the first 2 months to correct a recurring brake problem. The LeSabre now has 3000 miles on it and we have noticed nothing wrong! We will be taking it for an oil change in a couple of days and this is the first visit to any shop. The fit and trim quality is excellant. Much better that you would expect from and American car. We are very pleased with Buick in general. This is the second one in our driveway now.
