Company Sees A 40 Percent Increase In August Sales
Jaguar Land Rover North America had a very impressive August in sales. A 40 percent increase in sales puts them just behind Subaru's monumental 45 percent sales increase. What does a 40 percent sales increase translate to in terms of total sales? Compared to 4,756 units sold in last August, Jaguar Land Rover North America moved 6,661 units this past month. Total sales for the year stand at 43,106 units, an increase of 17.8 percent.
Jaguar's August sales totaled 1,723 units, an increase of 67 percent when compared to last August. Most of this increase is due to the XF and XJ getting new engine choices (turbo-four for the XF and a supercharged V6 for the XF and XJ) and all-wheel drive. The F-Type also played a role in the sales increase with 401 models being sold.
Over at Land Rover, sales for the month of August totaled 4,938 units, an increase of 32 percent. Again, a new product played a role in the sales increase. The new Range Rover saw a 40 percent increase this month with 972 units sold. Meanwhile, the Range Rover Sport was the sales leader with 1,846 units sold.
