Today happens to be the offical first day of spring and Audi decided it would be the perfect time to announce the pricing for the 2014 RS 5 Cabriolet. The potent cabrio carries a starting pricetag of $77,900, or about $9,000 more than the RS 5 Coupe. For that, you get a 4.2L naturally-aspirated V8 engine making 450 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. That is complemented by a seven-speed S-Tronic gearbox with launch control and Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive system. This allows the RS 5 Cabriolet to hit 60 MPH in 4.9 seconds, about 0.4 seconds slower than the RS 5 Coupe, and has a top speed of 174 MPH. Fuel economy stands at 16 City /22 Highway/18 Combined which Audi says allows the RS 5 to avoid the dreaded Gas Guzzler Tax. The RS 5 Cabriolet’s roof folds down in fifteen seconds and can be put back up in 17 seconds. The roof can be raised or lowered at speeds up to 30 MPH. When folded, the RS 5 Cabriolet’s roof only takes up 2.12 cu-ft. of the 13.42 cu-ft. trunk. The RS 5 Cabriolet comes standard with the usual assortment of features you expect in a vehicle that costs close to $80,000 such as your choice of leather or leather/alcantara seats, power adjustments, and a lip spoiler on the trunk lid. The 2014 Audi RS 5 Cabriolet arrives at dealers in April.
